I just finished setting up a new website at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~caulleyfamilyinfo/Kirk-Kil-Patrick/Index.html KIRKPATRICK & KILPATRICK Clans Organization of N. America This site has been established to help people researching these 2 related families. On this site you will find member-submitted trees, queries, DNA results, general histories of the families and links to other valuable research websites. It's my hope that members of this site will be able to "network" with other researchers and ultimately break down their "brick walls." I am starting this as a Free RESEARCH and INFORMATION SHARING SITE and ask only that interested individuals "join" or take out a free "membership" by emailing me. Check it out and join, What could it hurt? Tom Caulley

Can anyone tell me what Riverside, Antrim would have been like in 1875?
Seeking info on Alfred Kirkpatrick born 1888 in Riverside, Father named Matthew and mother named Mary.
Hi Betty: My mother was a Kirkpatrick. Her father was from Nyack New York (Named Milton) I am interested in where they came from. I am asuming they were related. Milton died in the 1920's in his 40's so I assume he was born ca 1880. Please send any info. Hi Betty. Thanks for the information. You are s-o-o-o right about the Kirkpatrick's being a prolific bunch. Some of the ones I'm looking for have led me to Baltimore and Montana. I found a whole nest of them in each of those places. My grandfather was Alfred Kirkpatrick. He and my grandmother created thirteen little Kirkpatricks before they were through. I will keep my eyes open for Cozier. Thanks again. Nice hearing from you. Craig Kerrison In a message dated 4/21/2011 10:39:27 A.M. By 1841 James Kirkpatrick lived in East Brooklyn, NY. He was married to a lady by the name of Mary Gillespie. Mary came from Londonderry, Co. Donegal, IR to NY, but the date is unknown. I do not know if James and Mary were already married when they came over or whether they came at separate times and met in the USA. I would like to hear from anyone having information on this family. Thank you. Kathy
I am planning to visit the area in SC where my Kirkpatrick answers lived, fought, and died during the American Revolution. Several are interred in Bullock Creek Cemetery. I would like to be able locate where their land holdings were with currently identifiable landmarks, if possible. I'm wondering if there might be anyone on this list who might have such information available. Research by others states that James Kirkpatrick received a land grant along Turkey Creek: "On 24 September 1754 he is given land grants by the Governor of North Carolina to lands situate Turkey Creek in what is now South Carolina. The total of his land grants were 1,350 acres along Turkey Creek." and: "The tradition of the descendants of James Kirkpatrick, who settled on lands granted by the Governor of North Carolina to him, that lay along Turkey Creek, a branch of the Broad River and situate in now what is York and Chester Counties, South Carolina are that this is a Scottish family that moved to North Ireland, in a 'neck-saving' operation. " It is believed that the Kirkpatricks moved from Pennsylvania to SC in the early 1750s based upon the fact that the Gaston's and Gillham families, with whom they were very closely associated, both went there in 1750- 1751. I'd appreciate any information. And, since I don't have time in the next 6 weeks to be likely to obtain such information from government entities, I would be interested also in finding a paid researcher who might be able to assist. Thanks in advance. Ron Klein --------- ronklein@ix.netcom.com
I believe we are talking about 2 different Hugh Kirkpatricks. The Hugh Kirkpatrick, who was the son of John 'Hugh' Kirkpatrick (1741-1812) was born 26 September, 1763; married Ruth Samples 27 February 1793 at Jefferson Co., TN; died 18 March 1810 in Jefferson Co., TN. They reportedly had 9 children, of which we know the following: John K (b 1794- d 1846) Jennie Larrinet K (b 1795) Ruth K (b 1797) Anna Blackburn K (b 1799-d 1844) Tilda Metilah K (b 1799 d-1881) Eliza Betsy K (b 1809- d 1865) --- On Sat, 4/11/09, kirkpatrick-request@rootsweb.com <kirkpatrick-request@rootsweb.com> wrote: From: kirkpatrick-request@rootsweb.com <kirkpatrick-request@rootsweb.com> Subject: KIRKPATRICK Digest, Vol 4, Issue 4 To: kirkpatrick@rootsweb.com Date: Saturday, April 11, 2009, 7:00 AM Today's Topics: 1. I'm a descendant of John "Hugh" Kirkpatrick through his son David Seiver Kirkpatrick. If you look at any actual documents known to be from/about John "Hugh" Kirkpatrick you will see he is never named john HUGH Kirkpatrick, Just John Kirkpatrick. I believe it was E. Spears McCollough (Sp?) who inserted the middle initial H as a middle "name." Hugh was a fairly common name in the Kirkpatricks of this era and from Dumfrieshire, Scotland, as were Alexander, John and Andrew. You have stumbled on one of the true problems of researching the Kirkpatricks -- they used the same names way too frequently. --- On Fri, 4/3/09, kirkpatrick-request@rootsweb.com <kirkpatrick-request@rootsweb.com> wrote: From: kirkpatrick-request@rootsweb.com <kirkpatrick-request@rootsweb.com> Subject: KIRKPATRICK Digest, Vol 4, Issue 2 To: kirkpatrick@rootsweb.com Date: Friday, April 3, 2009, 7:00 AM Today's Topics: 1. Having a son named John Hugh, and another named John and a third named Hugh seems a little off to me. Any ideas anyone? Does anyone have any idea if and how these men are related. I find it interesting that the families use many of the same names, and both have a Rev. Hugh K. just a few counties apart. The Hugh K., MG in Sumner Co. - the first marriage I find attributed to him is Sep 1816, and the last one was Oct 1823 (these Sumner Co Tn marriages went from 1787-1824) meaning he may have been a generation younger than the Jefferson Co Hugh who died in 1810.
