    3. I am Sandra Taylor Casey, a 2nd great granddaughter of Jesse Jackson Kirkpatrick. He lived in Illinois from 1804-1864 and fought in the Blackfoot Indian War in the Illinois militia. I would very much like to join the Kirkpatrick website. stc ________________________________ From: Tom Caulley <tcaulleysgenmail@yahoo.com> To: kirkpatrick@rootsweb.com Sent: Mon, March 25, 2013 11:50:50 AM Subject: [KIRKPATRICK] Kirkpatrick's of Closeburn etc Cheryl, Thanks for your interest in the Kirkpatrick /Kilpatrick Clans Org. website. I tried finding your tree on Ancestry.com, but there are no less than 25 trees containing your Alexander, and couldn't figure which one is yours. Can you send me a link? Also, I'm very interested in the Kirkpatricks who can prove descent from the "Sir Roger Core Family of Closeburn, Scotland" since we are trying to get one of the proven male descendants to have a Y-DNA test run to establish a "Kirkpatrick baseline-DNA." Then ALL Kirkpatrick researchers could compare their Y-DNA to the core and either prove, or disprove a connection to the Closeburn Clan. I am assuming Kirkpatrick is your married name? If it is, can you prove your Kirkpatricks back to the Closeburn clan AND, if yes, would your husband, or another of his male relatives be interested in supplying us with a DNA sample? I've been in contact with Sir Ivone (11th Baronet)'s niece in Australia. She has asked both her uncle and her brother (her father is deceased) if they would give us a sample. Her uncle said no, and her brother hasn't replied as of yet -- it's been over a month so I'm not too hopeful he'll say yes. Anyway, I've entered you as a member of the web site. I look forward to hearing from you soon. 1. Re: [KIRKPATRICK] New Kirkpatrick website
    2. Katherine Mubareka
    3. James Kirkpatrick married Elizabeh (Gillespie) in Balleylennon,Co. Donegal, Ireland in 1837. The next bit of information comes from a 1901 letter written by Elizabeth's sister-in-law, Mary Jane (Porter) Gillespie wherein she states that her husband, James Gillespie, was supposed to meet his sister, Mary Kirkpatrick, in Brooklyn, NY upon arrival from Ireland in 1841. Little other evidence of this Kirkpatrick family is available in spite of an extensive search. It seems that somewhere between 1837 and 1840 both James and Mary (Gillespie) Kirkpatrick emigrated from Ireland to the USA. I have reason to beleive that James Kirkpatrick became a naturalized US citizen in 1842. If anyone has more information on this Kirkpatrick family, I would like to hear from you. Kathy

    3. Hi Cheryl: My Grandmother's brother, James A. Bates married Canzadia ("Zada", or "Zadie") Kirkpatrick,d/o Simeon Kirkpatrick. They left there and went to Paris,Lamar Co., Texas and lived there until their deaths. They had children and probably still have ancestors living around there. Nice to hear from you.
