DOES ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE ANY INFO. ON MY LINE OF KINGS' IN VIGO CO.,Prairie Creek Twp., In.?? I'm trying to learn identity of my G.Grandfather's parents,sibblings or any info. that anyone may have. My G.Grandfather was Thomas T. King. The first documentation I have of him is the 1850 Vigo, Co. census. He was living in Prairie Creek Twp., Vigo, Co. Indiana with his wife Docia (Ambardocia) McDaniel (possibly McDonald) & Soloman who I believe to be a brother, but cannot prove .The census says Thomas was born in Indiana, I dont know where. He was born in 1826. I dont know for sure that he had any sibblings, but as stated earlier, since Soloman was residing in his household in 1850, & Thomas & Docia later named a son (my Grandfather) Soloman, I'm thinking he may have been a brother. I also suspect but cannot prove that Thomas' Father may have been Henry King who the HISTORY OF PRAIRIE CREEK TWP. lists as coming to thet TWP. sometime between 1816&1820.If so there were several children listed in earlier census, but I have no names. Family stories passed down , say that Thomas parents came to the U.S. from either Scotland or Ireland, dates unknown. Thomas named his first born Henry which is the only clue I really have except he was in the area at the right time & probably the proper age, to be Thomas Father. I dont know what happened to him or his wife (name unk.) or any of their listed children,havent found Henry in any local cemetaries.Thomas had several children, their names in case it may help were: William Henry, Mary Ellen, Patience (who by the way was also suspected brother Solomons wife's name)-both Soloman & Patience are buried in Watson Cem. Prairie Creek Twp.,A. James,Soloman,Sarah J.,John Thomas,Hiram,Rebecca C..Thomas served in the Civil War but none of the records I've been able to obtain are of any help in identifying any of the above. Any help anyone has will be greatly appreciated, I have considerable info. from 1850 forward if it would help anyone.
