    2. James D. King
    3. Haven't posted in a while. Here is my brick wall. Looking for ancestry of Earl (Earle, Arle) King born sometime around 1740, probably in RI. Married Content Richmond in January 1768 in Exeter, Rhode Island. Second wife was Abigail. Marriage documents state his is from South Kingston, RI. Land documents describe him as being from Providence Plantation. After Content died, Earl took his family to Rennselear Co. NY and later, in the early 1800's to Erie Co. PA. My line is Earl > Stephen > Stephen > Truman. The later two are associated with Erie Co. PA. Earl's offspring included Stephen, Content, Lucy, Earl, and at least three other daughters. Any help appreciated in determining Earl's parents would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance, Jim King [email protected] -----Original Message----- From: Carol C-H [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, January 28, 2003 12:32 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [KING] Listowner Post - ROLL CALL!! 1. [KING] Roll Call - Olive Virginia King, c.1841 - 1884 Wood County, WV
    2. Marty Ryerson
    3. Olive is my great-grandmother. She married Elijah HOY. Her father was John A. KING, b. 1 MAR 1818 d. 2 MAY 1868. His father is (possibly) Stephen KING, b. 4 JUL 1776 (!) d. 18 OCT 1870 in Virginia (now WV). Family tradition is that John A. KING was married to a Native American woman, by whom he had all of his children. When she died, he married Elizabeth --?--, mainly to take care of the children. John had been "out West" and returned to West Virginia with his first wife and their children. I have no real proof that Stephen KING is John's father. He married Jane DEARTH. I would love to find John's father or prove this one, and then follow on back. Any help or clues appreciated greatly.

    3. My father's father passed away from being hit by a tree Dec 29, 1929. His name was Benjamin Newton KING and he was born in 1900. His father was William Brown KING and his mother was Martha Sullivan and they lived in Union County, GA. On a census form I found that they were both born in NC, but not where. They had several children together: Vick KING Will KING Jas KING Bell KING Rose King Vennie KING Cal KING Reddie KING Hattie KING Radill KING My father did not know them very well because instead of helping the widow (my Dad's mother) they tried to buy the daughter (my Dad's sister) to help with housework. My grandmother went home to her parents who lived in Tennessee. Does anyone recognize these names in their line? If so please e-mail me as I am stumped. Also, on a different line I have Mary KING who married Stephen ALEXANDER, Sr. (1741-1810). Her parents were Thomas KING and Jane (Katherine ?) 3. I'm looking for some information on William KING. He married a woman named Mary. (I'm sure he did this just to make it "easy" on all his descendants!) The only information I have on William is that he died on 4 March 1821. Mary died on 30 Sept 1822. They had a son named Josiah M. KING (b. 29 Nov 1798, d. 10 May 1837). Josiah married Eliza Ann BEEBE (b. 27 Jun 1809, d. 8 Jan 1837) in 1828. Their daughter, Nancy Amanda KING (b. 1830) married Lewis Davis HOMAN (b. 1826 in Smithtown, Suffolk, New York). This is the first indication of location that I have. I have no more information about William or Mary or locations for any of the others mentioned here. If anyone knows about this family, I'd appreciate hearing from them. Thanks. 3. I just posted this recently but am posting again for the roll call: Ezekiel King b. 1780 Suffield, Hartford Co., CT d. 20 May 1831, Edinburg, Saratoga Co., NY m. abt 1810 Mary Squires b. 1788, Hartford, Hartford Co., CT d. 25 Oct 1851, Edinburg, Saratoga Co., NY I have one of their children as Stephen King (b. 27 Apr 1821, Edinburg, Saratoga Co, NY; d. 14 Mar 1898, Logan, Harrison Co., IA). According to a Harrison Co., IA biography there were 10 children in the family, including a son named Joseph A. King. The bio said there were 7 boys and 3 girls, with Stephen King being the 7th child. What I'm trying to determine is whether one of the daughters was Mary M. King (b. 5 Dec 1829, Saratoga Co., NY; d. 8 Feb 1904, Harrison Co., IA; m. 4 Jul 1848, Jason Ziba Hunt). I haven't been able to locate any birth records in Saratoga Co., NY for Mary King. I did find an online family tree for Stephen King, but he is the only child included (as the researcher's only interest; I emailed her and she doesn't have names or information on the other children). One of my sources mentions that Stephen King was a brother-in-law of Jason Ziba Hunt, but no other details were given. That leads me to believe that Stephen King and Mary M. King were brother and sister. If anyone has these King folks in their line, could you let me know? Mary King was one of my brick walls and I'll be so excited if she turns out to be Stephen King's sister. Thanks! Deborah Bay Denver, CO

His parents were from Germany. I don't know their names or if he had any brothers or sisters. He had 6 children that all lived and were married in the Bridgeport area. Sarah's birth records are confused in the various documents that I have found. She was born 8/20/1875 in either Canada, RI, or Bristol, CT. Her parents were from France. I have no information on them or her siblings. She died 1/12/1933 in Bridgeport. I would appreciate any information to fill in the blanks. 3. The earliest documented KING that I have is Thomas KING (b. 21 Nov 1816, Monongahelia, VA; d. 9 May 1887, Wetzel, WV) who married Elizabeth Ann FERRELL (b. 31 Aug 1820, VA; d. 12 Feb 1900, Wetzel, WV) on 9 Mar 1841 in Tyler, VA. I understand that John KING (b. 13 Nov 1790, MD; d. 29 Aug 1859, Wetzel, (W)VA) and Elizabeth Anna SHAW (b. Dec 1794, Randolph, (W)VA; d. 19 Jun 1859, Wetzel (W)VA) are his parents though I don't have any evidence. Thomas and Elizabeth's children are follows: Rebecca Ann KING (b. abt 1842) John Filmore KING (b. Apr 1843) Elman F. KING (b. abt 1845) James E.
