I have a Geoge King born 1820 in Dublin, Ireland. He came to U.S. in 1827 with parents, George King and Esther Stacy and two siblings, Thomas King, and Maria King (Davis). They settled in Cattaraugus County, New York (Mansfield). George married Mary Nichols and they had three children, Marcus, Oscar and Sarah. Mary died in 1856 shortly after they moved to Monroe County, Wisconsin. He remarried Martha Boyle Turner and they had four more children, Alice, Hattie, John (who is my grandfather) and Lizzie. They also raised a nephew Frederick. I have quite a bit of information on this family once they reached the U.S., but my brickwall is Ireland. They became Methodist-Episcopal in the U.S. but have been unable to find what Parish they were part of in Ireland nor the ship they came over on in 1827. If anyone has information on this family, I would be forever grateful. ---------- >From: Carol C-H <[email protected]> >To: [email protected] >Subject: [KING] Listowner Post - ROLL CALL!! >Date: Tue, Jan 28, 2003, 1:31 PM > > Let's try to find some connections and ancestors!
