King was b. in NC, per census information. We believe the H. may stand for Haywood. He married Catharine Bird, Dec 27, 1837 in Orange Co. NC. Amanda was their first child to be born in MO, in 1843. They were on the 1850 Census in Ray County, MO. I do not have them on an 1860 census. By 1870, John had died and Catharine is in Ray County, MO with her younger children. Catharine's youngest son was 8, so I'm assuming John probably did not die until after 1861.
