I would invite my gfather Lert King b.1840-50 in N.C. married Midora Bryant in 1886 in Halifax Co. N.C. I would ask him where he came from and who his parents were. I would spend the day asking questions instead of eating. I can't find out about him any other way.He died in 1909 and was buried in Scotland Neck, N.C. accodrding to the info we have. I'd ask him where.
