I would invite my g-g-grandfather, John W King and honor him at the head of the table, with me sitting on his right. First, I would let him enjoy his dinner then the questions would begin. Where was he born? Some say NC, others KY, still others say IN sometime around 1800. Of course, I would like to know who his parents were. Then I would ask him what made him come with Peter's Colony to settle in Northeast Texas at Little Elm, in the early 1840's? Then I would tell him how proud we are of our g-g-grandmother Delilah (Cox) King for keeping the family together and staying in Texas after he died. Last of all I would like to take him back to Little Elm, which is in Denton County Texas and show him all the changes, since he first stopped his covered wagon there and decided to stay in about 1842-1843, when my great grandmother Elizabeth Jane King was about two years old. Oh, if only we could do this! Happy Thanksgiving Dreams! Marie
