This is lengthy, I'm sorry, but only way to explain and perhaps relate to any of you. I'm coming to Missouri next week for a good 2 day ancestry hunt(might be more days) and wondered about several things. Like getting copies of marriages from county/state books, copies of census records that I don't have. Church Records? Birth Records? Just a few heavy duty items that I can't get here in Indiana and on the Web. Would any of you suggest the counties or state records(which is best). Also, Cemeteries? Anything is appreciated. I have found most of the census from Ancestry.com - however I'm sure there is more! Related names (women's maiden names): 1. Theresa: Hello. I live about 20 miles from Warren county and about 25 miles from St. Louis. My place of abode is Portage des Sioux in St. Charles County. I would suggest you come to the Katherine Linneman Library ( Also know as the St. Charles City County Library System) in St. Charles on Elm Street to check out their genealogy collection. The librarians are very helpful and tell them that I sent you. St. Charles County Historical Society has an extensive collection for St. Charles and most of the surrounding counties as well. Also, if you have time the genealogical collection at the St. Louis Library on Lindbergh is outstanding. . They have inherited 25,000 volumes of genealogical books recently and they are great. The librarians there are also very helpful. Also e-mail me privately at burma_wilkins@moed.uscourts.gov and maybe I can help you get around and pass along some information to you regarding places to stay, eat, etc. Sincerely, Burma L. Wilkins
