    3. I have a George King, (Know nothing else) that married Jane Sarah Appleton in 1818 in Butler OH. I don't have any dates for her either. She was a sister of one of my Appleton line. The dates could make George and Jane Sarah brother and sister?????? -----Original Message----- From: mydarling.frances@googlemail.com [mailto:mydarling.frances@googlemail.com] On Behalf Of Frances Lee Sent: Monday, May 01, 2006 2:41 PM To: KING-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [KING] GODFREY KING and GEORGE KING Dear Listers Further to finding one Godfrey King, furrier of Quebec (furrier is his occupation) acting as a witness at the marriage of JOHN BOGGS and DEBORAH KING in 1788 at Quebec City. I have now found the death of Godfrey King in City of Quebec aged 61. He died 8th August 1799. The service was conducted by Father Johosaphat Mountain Rector of the English Church at Quebec. Also present were George King son of the deceased and William Vandenvelden (not sure of exact spelling!) Anyone have a Godfrey King and a George King in their tree? We think Godfrey may be an uncle of Deborah King. Any connections out there? 3. Karen Sorry because I'm English I don't actually know what Butler OH means! Can you explain it to me? Somewhere in Canada I presume? My 3xg grandfather JOHN BOGGS/sometimes called BOAGGS and my 2xg-grandfather and his decendents are all called BOGG which is very confusing! Anyway JOHN BOGGS went out to Canada with the Royal Artillery. The RA's base in England was at Woolwich in Kent and most of my Bogg/BOAG/BOGGS ancestors after JOHN came from there. Whilst he was in Quebec City he met and married a Canadian lady DEBORAH DUFF KING in 1788. Its her family I am trying to find out about. We should have some Canadian cousins somewhere out there! I have traced a living cousin also called JOHN BOGGS who tells me that JOHN AND DEBORAH had 11 children and that my 2xg-grandfather EDMUND BOGG was their eighth child. Some of these children may well have been born in Canada but as we don't know their names its hard to search for them! Anyway apparently DEBORAH DUFF KING's parents were JOHN KING and SARAH CAMERON if that helps you at all. I don't know where or when they were born except that it doesn't seem to be in Quebec City cos I've had the records checked there! We think that GODFREY KING who was a witness was probably JOHN KING'S brother. He is too old to be Deborah's brother as he died aged 61 in 1799! I don't know any more about GEORGE KING except the fact that he was present at his father's burial. Well I will try to find out more! Best wishes Frances On 5/1/06, Karen <diggingupbones@cfl.rr.com> wrote: > > I have a George King, (Know nothing else) that married Jane Sarah Appleton > in 1818 in Butler OH.
