    1. James G. King, etc, born in TN, NC, SC and MS.
    2. Hi Betty: Sorry it has taken me awhile to check out my data on James G. King. I have been working on tax matters which are rather complex this year due to the death of my wife last July. As a long term genealogical researcher, you are no doubt aware that siblings often named their children after their own brothers and sisters and earlier generations of their direct line ancestors. It this case, it looks suspiciously like our two KING lines may be related. For example, my James G. King, was apparently born 28 Dec. 1808 in NC shortly before his father and family migrated to Lincoln Co., TN. He died on 3 July 1846; most likely in Lincoln County, TN (LCT). This data was collected and published by my father's cousin named Mary Scott of Fayetteville, LCT. His birth in NC is based on an entry in the US Census for 1850 by his son Andrew Jackson KING. His father's (Ephraim KING) will named him as an executor of his estate. However his father's estate was actually probated by someone else, apparently a friend or the attorney that wrote his will. John's failure to execute his father's will may be an indication that he had moved elsewhere; however, I doubt so, since he died in July 1849 in LCT. His estate in LCT was processed by his brother in law, William Sorrels. My James G. KING married a lady named Nancy Sorrels. She was born in 1805 and died in 1852, about four years after her husband, in LCT. They had the flowing named King children: Mary Jane, Althea Eliz. (Letha), Ephraim C., Martha A. and Susan Marinda. I noted a couple of more names in you message that makes me think our KING lines may be related. First, your Robinson name reminded me that my grandmother KING was named Mary Alina (Lina) Chapman; however, her mother's family name was Robinson. She was from the adjacent county in TN named Bedford, just a few miles from Lincoln Co. TN where my KING ancestors settled around 1819. The other one was the name of the lady that married your William KING born 1812 in SC who was married to Peremelia Marin born in 1810. My great-grandfather Andrew Jackson KING named one of his daughters Permelia Ann (Melie) KING, she was born 13 Dec. 1843. Andrew also named his youngest son William KING. Your thoughts on these speculations will be much appreciated. Tom King, Sr. Near Leesburg, VA ------------------------------------------------ Mr. King, I was contacted by Gale Judkins in regard to your inquiry about the King family line. I live in Corinth, Ms about 3 miles from the McNairy County, TN line. My name is Betty King Robertson and I have done research for about 25 years. The King line has always caused me problems because of the numbers of Kings in this area. I have a James G. King in my line but very little info on him and that is where I am stuck!!. My James G was born @1790 in N.C.and married to Sarah (?) after 1810 in S.C.. He died @1871 in Hardeman Co TN. I have 12 children listed. I believe my decent to be from his son William King born 1812 S.C. married Permelia Martin 1830 in Madison TN and died in 1865 Hardeman co, TN. If you are interested in any info about these children I have some I will be glad to share . I have no idea if this is the same line but you may be able to make the connection if you have more info on your end. Let me hear from you to make sure you received this email. Thank you Betty
