Nancy, I have a William King that married a Nancy Ann McKinney. She was born Oct 2, 1884 but I don't have any other information on him. Then I have a William King that married a Hannah Lamphere. She was born Jan 30, 1744 in CT and died in 1825 in MA. I don't have any other information on William or any of their children. But it seems like they could be related to your William that was born in 1779. Maybe a grandfather? Any one have information about these William's or ideas? He was living in Claiborne County and Hawkins and Hancock around 1812. His first-born son's name was ELIAS KING. There were several "Elias" Kings in New Castle, Delaware in the 1700s. But - can't find one that has my William born 1779!! One great discovery about Elias KING comes from the death certificate of his son: Van Buren KING. According to his Kentucky death certificate, Van Buren KING was born 25 DEC 1839 in Scott County, Virginia. His father was Elias KING. This Elias is my William's first-born son.
