GGGF: 1. According to the North Carolina Troops: A Roster Book page 377, " James G. King Pvt., enlisted in Company A 48th Regiment, NC 21 Aug. 1862, for the war. Wounded at Sharpsburg, MD, on or about 17 Sep 1862. Hospitalized at Richmond, VA, 18 Oct 1862, with diarrhoea (sic) . Treansferred to another hospital 1 Dec 1862. Restored to duty prior to 1 Mar 1863. Reported present in March-June, 1863 and March -April 1864. Wounded in the head at or near Wilderness, VA, on or about 5-6 May 1864. Hospitalized at Richmond on 7 May 1864. Furloughed from hospital on an unspecified date. GGGU: 2. Harmon B. King enlisted in NC A Co., 48th Reg, 19 Mar 1863 at the age of 18. He was paroled at Greensboro on 01 May 1865, according to the North Caroline Troops 1861-1865 A Roster Vol. XI, Infantry, page 377. GU: 3. George W. B. King served in WWI (NC) his son. GN: 4. William R. 'Willie' King born 13 Dec 1898 in Calhoun County, AR died 24 April 1945 in Pineville, Louisiana buried Greenwood Cemetery, Pineville, LA Attended 3rd District Agricultural School in Magnolia from 1916-1920. Played on the undefeated 1919 3rd District School "Mulerider" football team. Served briefly in the USArmy at the close of World War I.
