Still looking for James King b. April__??, m. Elizabeth Clemens 1811 in Livingston Co. Ky, Elizabeth was born Oct. 14, 1793 per our family bible. James's birth year has been obliterated by years of wear and tear on the bible but we presume he was born at least 1793 or before. This grandparent of mine has been attached incorrectly to other families over the years ..at this time he is listed at least twice in LDS files as the child of Francis King and Mary Jones. The child of Francis King would have only been 13 at marriage if he had indeed married Elizabeth Clemens. James is again listed in some Ancestry.com family files also as this same line of descent...also incorrectly...I have noted that one individual must have finally figured out that James King, child of Francis King was too young to be the spouse of Elizabeth Clemens...so has removed some of the incorrect information a little too late to keep the misinformation from being collected and passed on via the internet for prosperity. James and Elizabeth Clemens King lived in Golconda, Pope Co. Illinois. He had several pieces of property warranted to him at Shawneetown...one piece near Raleigh, Illlinois one near Creal Springs, Illinois and yet another that was in Massac Co. Illinois James could have arrived from Virginia to Kentucky or Indiana...there were many King families in both areas in the early 1800's. He had mentioned being from the "Emerald Isle"...so he could have also immigrated directly from there to the Kentucky territory. I think that his children's names must have clues to both maternal and Paternal sides of this family. I have Elizabeth's family back many generations but sure need some clues to James's ancestry.
