There were a ton of Kings in Sullivan County & later in Greene County, so I don't have absolute "proof" from William on back, but here's what I have, from a book done by a cousin, in the early 1980s. My great grandmother was Mary Elizabeth King, married to Granville Hurst, Rhea County, Tennessee, in 1873. She was born in 1846, Greene Conty, Tennesse, daughter of Allen Lewis King & Amanda Weesner. Allen was born in 1823, Sullivan County, Tennessee, son of William Isaac King & Martha "Patsy" Crouch. William was born in 1796, Sullivan County, Tennessee, son of Thomas King & Susan Ann Sharp. Thomas was born in 1754, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, son of Edward King & Elizabeth Nichols. Edward was born about 1720, Chester County, Pennsylvania, son of Thomas King & Jane Sharp. Thomas was born in about 1695 in Londonderry, Ireland. From William Isaac, on down to me, I'm about as close to 100% certain as you could get. Before that it gets kinds "iffy". Many things that werte written in "family history" books (including the one this came from) have been proven incorrect. I have not been to Greene or Sullivan County (but have spent some time in Rhea County) to research this line.
