Drury King was born about 1744, probably in NC. He m. Mildred Williams. One of his brothers is believed to be Francis (in Wake), another may have been William (in Halifax). He lived in Halifax Co. until the early 1780's then moved to Wake. He died in Wake before 1788. He left minor children. The children mentioned in the probate include Drury, Richard, John, William, Berry (Littleberry?) and Burwell. I descend from a long line of Drury Kings. I am wondering if this one is the first, and if so, where did the name originate? It has been suggested that his father might be William King of Edgecombe Co. who died abt. 1759. William's wife was named Elizabeth. All descending families had an Elizabeth, but, at that time, it was a common name. In later generations, the Kings intermarried with the Joiners. They also had lots of Drurys. Any collaboration would be appreciated. Barbara King Dallas
