The search for information of my KING line is mired in the muddy bottom of (Big) Fishing Creek near Reader WV. I have a good line back through generation No. 6, but there it stops! I have found information on two other King lines in the area, but nothing more on my line. There is probably a wealth of information available in the indexes for the counties of Wetzel, Tyler, and Monongalia. I have no access to them. Marriage Notes for John King and Elizabeth Shaw: There were two John King marriages listed in Monongalia county. One was in 1811 to Elizabeth Shaw. The other was on February 05, 1816 to Mary Elizabeth Floyd. The current assumption is that the correct marriage was to Elizabeth Shaw. John's wife was listed as 'Elizabeth' for the 1850 census. The father of Mary Elizabeth Floyd was Andrew Floyd. The bondsman for the marriage of Mary Elizabeth Floyd was Michael Floyd.
