KING FAMILY HISTORY AT GEORGETOWN LIBRARY ! GRANT PARISH, LA Bill King of Houston has just advised us that a "preview copy" of THE KING FAMILY HISTORY can be reviewed at the Georgetown Branch of the Grant Parish Library. If you live up in the Selma & Georgetown area, or if you are a descendant of the King group of children that moved down from Southern Arkansas to Selma in early 1900's, you should stop by and browse the book. Remember, however, the copy of the book located at the Georgetown Library is "a work in progress" and not a final edited version of the book. JAMES M. (Jim) & ELIZABETH (Bettie) KING were the parents of the King group that moved down to Selma. Both Jim & Bettie are thought to have died shortly after the Ouachita County, Arkansas Census of 1900 was taken. JAMES M. KING, born abt. 1849 in Ouachita/Calhoun CO, AR James' parents were: JOHN T. KING (1816-SC) & MARTHA CAROLINE WITHERINGTON (1826-AL). The children of Jim & Bettie, all born in Southern Arkansas were: Thomas L. (Silus 'Bud' Cobb)(b. 1881 - d. 1916 in Selma, La.) <Williams, Cobb, Henderson, Duff> Garland (b. 1883 - d. ? ? in Arkansas) Jesse Melton (b. 1885 - d. 1966 in Ball, La.) <Carter, Cripps, Green > Albert Cleveland (b. 1888 - d. 1962 in Jackson, La.) Bessie (Louis Armstrong) (b. 1892 - d. 1979 in Selma, La.) <No Children> George Linnie (b. 1895 - d. 1920 in Selma, La.) <Served in WW I, Never Married> Robert (b. 1897 - d.
