Court 1805 - Thomas LANIER wills to son ROBERT 10 shillings and that already given him; to son LEWIS, 10 shillings and that already given him; to son WILLIAM 20 shillings; to FRANCES, my wife, all estate she had when I married her and a horse, 10 hogs, 10 barrels of corn, and to wife and daughter MARY, jointly, all geese, poultry and fowls; and to wife, my mill and land on Sandy Creek for her lifetime or widowhood (land in Warren County), 5 negroes and money for buying another negro, oxen, cart, still, sealskin trunk and frame, skillet, knives and forks, single riding chair, 2 cows and calves, saddle and bridle, furniture and much else; to daughter MARY for her lifetime, a feather bed and furniture, a horse, saddle and bridle, 2 negroes, a negro hired out for her, 2 cows and calves, a steer and, after her decease, to sell the property and divide money to my surviving children: SARAH, CATY, SUSANNA, REBECCA, and FANNY LANIER; my son WILLIS not to have any part of what I leave to my daughter MARY and MARY is to be supported by my son, as per my deed to him.
