According to records from Good King Felderhouse: The parish records do not show Vaentine King as a son of William and Elizaebeth yet his will proved in Nelson county 13 April 1790 he names beloved sisiter Elizabeth Owens, beloved brother John Edwards King, beloved mother and brothers William, and Wuthers King. ( Nelson County, Val. King Will recorded page 1 Libra A.) Valentine King was never married but there is strong presumption that he had an illegitimate daughter named Elizabeth Crips, by Mary ( or Nancy) Brashears. In his will he left Elizabeth Crips " during her natural life" two hundred acres of land in Jefferson County plus his mare "called Fenix" and three thousand weight of tobacco. these last tow bequest were to Elizabeth and her heirs.
