In a message dated 98-08-05 20:00:51 EDT, you write regarding attachments: Hi Kathy: I don't know what kind of front-end server you are using, consequently I really can't answer your question in any detail. I use America Online (AOL) as my front-end server and as part of their set-up program, one can tell the software not to download attachments; or not to open or save them automatically when one signs off. However, remember, some e-mail software packages automatically convert extra long messages to attachments. As you may have read in my previous messages to the board and the board owner, I do not open downloads attached to messages due to possible bugs-Trojans- virus, etc. However, there is one exception, when I know the person sending the message and hope that their software is clean. Your test message did not have an attachment, so maybe you have figured out how to set your software to send data without converting it to an attachment. Or, maybe it was because it was a short message it wasn't converted. Tom King, Sr. Tel: 619-451-3833 San Diego, CA
