    2. Hi Ken Tanner: Thanks for your response to the subject listing. I think our KING lines are related, just where I am not certain. But they were most likely cousins for the reasons stated below. My gr-gr grandfather Ephraim KING was born about 1785, most likely in NC; but possibly in VA based on oral family history. His birth date was calculated from his published age at death. He died in 1845 in Lincoln Co. TN. Your Ephraim King that married a lady named Sarah in NC and had a son named Henry in 1816 in NC, could well have been a cousin of my Ephraim KING. There were two Ephraim KING's listed in genealogical records as serving in the War of 1812 from NC. One was from Onslow Co., NC and the other from Hereford Co., NC. There could well have been others that I don't yet know of. My gr-gr grandfather Ephraim KING married a lady named Jane HARKINS, her birth date is unknown; but it was most likely a couple or years after her husband's birth. Their exact marriage date and location unknown, but estimated as being in 1805 in NC; or possibly SC, according to oral family history. Their two older children were born in NC, according to census data given by their descendants. Jane died during the civil war in 1863 in Lincoln Co. TN. Both were buried in a family cemetery situated on a farm they owned east of Petersburg, TN. My gr-gr grandfather Ephraim KING named one of his sons Shadrack A. KING (b. 1819). He married a lady named Mary D. McADAMS and they had a son named Ephraim C. KING (b. 1835). He married a lady named Elizabeth BLACKWELL (b. abt 1845) in 1867. No children listed in my database. My gr-gr grandfather Ephraim KING, named another son Andrew Jackson KING (b. 1813) and he and his wife had a son named Thomas Shadrack KING. He in turn had a son named Henry Sanford KING (born in TN) and another son named Ephraim Jackson KING, born in AL (my father). So you see, our KING lines both used the given name Ephraim and Henry. Both lines had men named Ephraim who married ladies named Sarah. And lastly, one from each line named Ephraim married ladies named Blackwell! So somewhere, we must be related! Some time ago I corresponded with another researcher working on the King's from Coffee Co. AL. I don't recall his name just now, but he was from the Atlanta, GA area. His name may have been Bobbie KING (Note the CC: address above). I think he was descended from the Ephraim King line from Onslow Co. NC. Have you been corresponding with him? If you are interested, we could exchange GEDCOM files on our KING lines. Tom King, Sr. San Diego, CA Tel: 619-451-3833
