Thel-- I saw your post on John W. King (quoted below) who ended up in Denton Co., TX. Interestingly enough, my sister-in-law (who is not on the Internet) has a John W. King (m. Elizabeth Foley) who moved from MO to Denton Co., TX in the 1830s when Texas was a Republic. My sister-in-law descends from this couple's dau., Julia Ann W. King who married Abraham Chandler. Julia died when their children were small, and Abraham left the children orphans when he was killed in the Civil War.
