Hello King List, I am trying to find out more about the roots of CHARLES LOVE KING. 1. HENRY KING born in Mecklenberg CO, VA, married MARGARET BUCHANAN probably in Richmond, VA. Supposedly Henry squandered all his wife's money and moved to Meags CO, TN around 1820. There children were: 2.i. SANDY KING probably a nick name. 2. ii. WILLIAM KING 2.iii. HARRY KING probably Henry,Jr. 2. iv. MEDICUS KING 2.v. ??? KING 2. vi. CHARLES LOVE KING born 11/13/1810 in Richmond, VA. And died 3/6/1892 in McMinn CO,TN. He was married to JULIA RATHER MCELWEE the daughter of James and Feruby Cannon McElwee. Family tradition stats that Julia was born near present day Knoxville, TN. Her father had been married before to a Nancy Johnson. He also fought at the Battle of Kings Mountain. He was one of the "First Family's of Tennessee." There children were: 3.i.THOMAS KING 3.ii. JAMES M. KING 3.iii. NEWTON KING 3.iv. JEROME KING 3.v.PENELOPE IRVINE KING ('NELLIE') born 8/25/1842 in Athens, McMinn CO, TN. Died 11/10/1921 in Mountain City, Johnson County, TN. She was married to NOAH JACOB WAGNER 4/30/1889. 3. vi. ADDIE KING* born 1856 married to THOMAS BOYD 3. viii. CHARLES LOVE KING,JR. born 1858 3. ix. ELLEN KING died 1938 MARRIED TO ???PYOTT 3.x.
