Jim, My Kings are from MD, but I have yet to be able to locate the area. All I know is that George Harvey King settled in the Washington Co., Pa. area in the early 1820's and that he was born in Maryland. He married a Margaret McElroy and I don't know if it was in Maryland or Pa., or WVA. Family records state that they settled 1 mile north of Majorsville in Pa., but Majorsville is just over the border in West Virginia. I also believe George had a brother John, as he is included in the 1870 census with Georges son, James, family in Pa. Census shows John King born in Maryland. John was 67 at the time so he would have been born abt. 1802/1803, and George I'm assuming about the same time. Your very right about not much traffic on this list for MD-Kings, but maybe that means that there were very few of us? And hopefully that would make it easier for us to find our families.
