I have a colateral ancestor, Hardy Wells who married an Elizabeth Parker in 1784 in Caswell County. He and Elizabeth also settled by 1800 in Surry County and many of their descendants intermarried with quite a few families there. There were a number of Kings in both Person and Caswell Counties which could be the origin of your branch. This is especially significant that there were also Parkers there, if that ends up being the maiden name of the Elizabeth who married your John King. John Fox Winston-Salem, NC
