In 'The New York Genealogical and Biographical Record' there is also a history of the Baxter family. The Kings were a part of their family. Here is what is listed. An excerpt from "The Brief account of the family of Lieutenant Richard Browne, of Southold, on the Island of Nassau, or Long Island, N.Y." A strong friendship existed between Richard Browne, Samuel Kinge, and their brother-in-law, John Tuthill, husband of Deliverance Kinge. Richard Browne had married as early as 1650 - 1. Hannah, da. of William and Dorothy (Hayne?) Kinge of Salem, Mass., b. in England in 1629. She outlived her husband. All their children were residents of the Town of Southold, their order is not known, they were; 2. i. Ensign Richard, oldest son, who d. 11 July 1701 3. ii. Jonathan 2nd son, d. doubtless 19 Aug., 1710 4. iii. William, 3rd son, b. 23 June, 1659 5. iv. Walter, 4th son, letters to his widow Jane ____, 1 May 1611 v. Hannah, m. probably about 1678, John Reeve vi. Abigail, b. about 1667, d. 27 May 1716. She was the 1st wife of William KINGE of Southold, b. 10 Jan 1661-2, m. 17 Jan. 1686-7, d. 12 Jay 1740. (He m. 2nd, Susannah Crook.) issue; 1. William Kinge, b. 14 Feb 1687-8, m. about 1709 Bathsheba Bebee, of Plum Island, b. 16 April, 1688, d. 7 May 1764. 2. Hannah King, b. 5 Jan 1691 3. David King, b. 22 Oct 1693, drowned 26 Sept. 1749, m. 15 Stpe. 1715, Hannah Beebe, sister of Bathsheba, b. 5 Aprl 1695, d. 11 Jan. 1728-29, he m. 2nd, Deborah Glover in 1731. 4. Daniel King, b. 13 April 1697 5. Jonathan King, b. 10 Apr. 1699, m. perhaps Eliza Petty in Feb., 1722 6. John King, b. 27 Aug. 1727, Ann, da of John Edward, Sr., of Easthampton. 7. Bezaleel King, b. 27 Jan 1703-4, d. 12 Feb. 1725 8. Abner King, b. 22 Mar. 1705-6 9 . Abigail King, b. 6 June 1709 vii. Mary 2. Ensign Richard Brown, of Southold, born before his parents went to Long Island., d. 11 Jul 1701m. 8 May 1683, Dorothy Kinge, b. 11 Jul 1664 (she m. 21 Aug 1705, Samuel Dayton of Easthampton) issue 8 children.
