    3. Fellow researchers. . . On November 30, 1998, Sarah M. Teel wrote: <I am looking for the parents of a Chauncey (Channey) <KING, b. Another researcher has given me the <following, which I'll just <outline for you. Don't know if they might connect with <yours, but the name <Chauncey King seems a little unusual, don't you think? <(In my database of <over 6000 names, this is the only Chauncey I have!) <snip< Well, Dottie. . .I'll give you two more Chaunceys! My father was Chauncey Leon KING, b. 21 Nov 1900 Bangor Twp, Pope Co., MN; d. 28 Jun 1948 Glenwood, Pope Co., MN. He was named for his uncle, Chauncey Burr KING, b. 04 Jun 1864 in Dodge Center, Dodge Co., MN; d. 06 May 1944 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. I believe that our immigrant ancestor was Clement KING, who originally settled in Marshfield, Massachusetts, then removed to Providence, Rhode Island. We are probably not connected with the Chauncey that Sarah is looking for. Dottie continues with a list of names and dates, then writes: < The lady who <gave me this info has a note that the source is "page <221 of the Green <Family Book." Nothing further, no author, location, <etc. <snip< The book in question may be "The Greene Family And Its Branches from 861 to 1904," by Lora LaMance. I have not seen the book, but have seen references to it. I believe that the KINGs detailed in that book are descended from Magdalen KING, immigrant from France who settled in a Huguenot colony in Rhode Island. Hope this contributes to your search, Sarah!
