Yes, it is the same. There is a genealogy entitled "KING GENEALOGY. Clement King, of Marshfield, Mass., 1668 and His Descendants", by George Austin Morrison, Jr. (Joel Munsell's Sons, Publishers, Albany, NY, 1898), that reflects careful research and conservative conclusions. It is reprinted by Higginson. It speculates that Clement might have been a son "of that John King, of Weymouth, of whom Savage gives reliable data." Other secondary data that I have seen, which I cannot emphasize too strongly has no primary source documentation, claims that Clement was in fact "Clement II" and that his father, "Clement I" was b. ca 1615 in England and d. there. "Clement I" is then said to be a son of Ralph KING and his wife Frances. However, a competent family researcher, Lorraine CALVERT, with whom I correspond, write that: "As for Clement's ancestry...to my knowledge it has no convincing documentation. "Some time ago I was in correspondence with an Anthony GAGLIANI, a descendant of a great grandson of John KING of Weymouth. He did not have any record of a Clement in the family. . . "As for the Clement II and Ralph, I believe that theory originated with IGI records, which, as you know, are neither documented nor [always] reliable." For the record, my line is as follows: 1. Clement KING, of Marshfield MA & Providence RI; 2. John KING of Rhode Island; 3. Isaac KING of Rhode Island; 4. Nathan KING, b. Rhode Island, moved to Vermont about 1790 (?) then to Niagara Co. (Erie Co.) NY about 1810; d. there in 1833; 5. John V. KING, b. Vermont ca. 1791, lived in Erie Co. and Cattaraugus Co. NY, then Dodge Co., Wis., finally moved with his sons to Steele Co., MN and d. there in 1863; 6. Carlos Jackson KING, b. Cattaraugus Co., NY in 1825; moved to Dodge Co., Wis., prob. Dane Co., Wis., then to Steele Co. and finally Pope Co., MN; d. 1894; 7. George Carlos KING, b. 1869 Steele Co., MN, d. 1945 in Douglas Co., MN; 8.
