Hi All, Frustration has set in and I hope someone out there can help me. I am attempting to research my husband King's. This is what I have so far: Augustus Koenig and Henry Sonne, his nephew apparently stowed away on an unknown ship in 1844-49. It seems that Augustus had killed a man and he and Henry left Germany shortly after that. According to the family, they left ship in New Orleans, LA. When next heard about they had come up the Mississippi River to a place called Woodards Valley, KY? Year unknown. Have not been able to find valley. He may be buried in Koll Cemetery in Ohio Co... KY. Augustus Koenig in Germany, King in America. Must have changed name during voyage here or after arriving in LA. b. 1814 in Germany 1844 KY before 1850. Buried in Ohio Co. KY d. abt 1852 m Margaret Sonne b. 1819 in Germany, was also born in Germany but don't know where Approximately a year after arriving in America, Augustus sent for his wife and children. /This family appears on the KY 1850 census: King, Augustus - 36 m b. Ger. Tanner Value Real Estate $150 Margaret - 31 F b. Ger. Charles 6 m b. Ger. Henry - 7 m b. Ger. Louisa - 8/12 F Sonne, Henry - 27 m b. Ger. Tanner I have his line through Charles but would like to know about brothers, sisters parents and where in Germany this family was born and lived.
