DIANE, Stuff like this drives me batsy until I find it, so....Hope it helps your or someone else who reads here. I have found what I was looking for. From World Family Tree Vol. 2 #1601, I find the family of Nehemiah Dowell who died Fauquier Co VA who has children Elizabeth m. James Mallory 1792 Fauquier, SCITHIA m. Jesse King (no more info), Sally m. Samuel Moore (divorced), Nehemiah Jr. m. Elizabeth Dearing Anderson Fauquier Co 1793 (family to TN), and Elisha m. Ann Bitzer 1803 Loudoun CoVA. There is more on this family on Vol 4 #995. Volume 6, #3463 shows Jesse King is son of Robert King b. 1755 Fauquier and d. 1823 Harrison Co KY. Full list of children born between 1776 and 1794: John, Millie, Robert, Jesse (b. Abt 1785), James, Braxton, Joshua, Jane, Armistad, George B. Most of the rest of my info comes from Harrison Co Ky records. There is quite a bit. Can't copy all here. Jesse's will was extracted from Book E, 1842-1847. Apparently his wife predeceased him. The extractor made comment that it was copied as written, since the daughter's names appear to be "weird." Here is the extraction: Will of Jesse King, being weak in body.... Son: Comadore--is to be given money to build a ferryboat sons: George, Greenberry, John daus: Hanah, Hamey and Marey (or Marly), Hendricks son: Balis executor: friend David Snodgrass witnesses: Ambrose D. Vanhook, Allen (X) Davis written: not dated; probated 11 November 1845 Book E, p. 311 A quick look at Harrison Co marriage bonds shows that Marey/Marly is likely Mary aka the Polly Ann King who married William Hendricks Dec. 9, 1841. Jesse wrote note of permission and a George King (prob his son) was bondsman. Hannah may have married Claiborn C. Harney. Did not find a Hamey. Other marriages for Jesse's children: Commodore Perry to Mary Smith in 1837, George to Elizabeth Lemmon in 1833 and/or Ann Eads in 1841, Greenberry to Melvina Gunsaules/Gunsall, and John to Rebecca Brooking(s). Robert King, Jesse's father, MIGHT BE the brother of William King of Bracken Co KY who was in the REV WAR. In it, he states that he was from Fauquier Co VA and lived TN before Bracken. He also mentions brother Robert. William may have been married to a Brown. At the very least, he had Brown relatives. Additionally, there is a Richard King living in Harrison who was from Loudoun Co. I probably would think him a candidate to be my John King's brother, except that their birthdates are only a few months apart. If accurate, they cannot be brothers. Further, I think Richard of Harrison is somehow related to Robert's family. I am still working on all of this. COMMODORE KING appears in Tower Hill Twp., Shelby Co IL in 1860 with a James Smith two doors away (wife's relative?). No other King families nearby. This is from printed copy published by Shelby Co Gen Soc. Commodore KING 43M Farmer Renter 740 Mary 38F Sarah T. 20F Mary E. 18F Nancy J. 11F Martha 6 F George 11/12M All except the youngest child are shown as born Kentucky. Sorry that I cannot find another SCITHIA or SITHA, but maybe it's a lead. SHERRY
