    3. I am still seeking any information on my grandfather, John King, prior to his arrival in the States in 1860, and on the family he sired. John was from SCT (Fife?), born abt 1835-40. He met Janet Greig Jack aboard ship to the States, married her in Baltimore in 1860, and they settled in Raleigh, Wake Co., NC. John is believed to have died in Raleigh, probably before 1900. Janet died in Baltimore in 1910. Their children included: Christina, b. 1863; William, b. 1865; George, b. 1869 (died bef. 1880); John P., b. 1871; Margaret, b. 1874; Janet, b. 1877; and Peter Robert, b. 1880 (my father). Most of the children apparently moved to Baltimore before 1910 - probably before 1900 - and are buried in Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore. I lost track of my uncles and aunts years ago (distance and age differences) and would be interested in any information on them as well as on John. Any help at all would be appreciated. Many thanks. By the way, I noticed a posting re length of a generation. In my own case, the last two generations covered 48 years. Seems a "generation" can be quite variable. Bob King
