    3. In short - does anyone know how I can prove a birth in Wayne County from October 8, 1827 - Victor A. KING? If you are interested or think you could help, please read on: Does anyone have any information to share on a KING family of Pleasant Mount/Mt. Pleasant PA in Wayne Co. A Mr. Dix did a newspaper article on them in the 40's which I have a copy of courtesy of the Wayne Co. Historical Society. On the 1830 census it showed that Hawkins KING had two males under 5. My gg grandfather, Victor A. KING, was born in Mt. Pleasant, PA (Wayne Co. as far as I know) on 10/8/1827. What remains unanswered is what were the names of these two boys. I am trying to prove that one of them was my gg grandfather. Hawkins had many children on the 1850 census (Wife - Mary of MA, sons George, Charles , Hosmer, Theodore) & 1860 census (wife Mary, children Osmer, Theodore, ?, Eliza, David, ?, John, Ellen, Jos). But by 1850 my gg grandfather was already married with children living in Springfield. Lots of things fit. 1) everything I have on Victor's birth states he was born in Mt. Plesant. 2) His obituary states he was a native of Wayne Co. 3) There are very few KINGS in the 1830 census of Wayne Co. and only one I believe with sons under 5. 4) Victor's father was supposed to have been born in PA and mother in MA. This Victor went on to be a well-known gunsmith and Superintendent of Winchester Firearms if that rings any bells. Anyway, a lot of things fit - I just don't know how to get the proof I need. Can anyone help? PS: I am in the process of trying to get his marriage certificate but that's another whole ordeal! Thanks to anyone who could help. Lynda K.
