    3. Ancestor: John King Born: about 1840 Place of birth: Scotland Spouse: Janet Greig Jack, b. 1839 Scoonie, Fife, SCT Marriage: Presumed to have been Baltimore, MD, 1860 Children: Christina, b. 1863 William, b. 1865 George, b. 1869 [died young] John P., b. 1871 Margaret, b. 1874 Janet, b. 1877 Peter Robert, b. 1880 All born Raleigh, Wake Co., NC. However, Christina, William, John P., Margaret and Janet died in Baltimore and are buried in Loudon Park Cemtery in that city. Mother Janet also died in Baltimore [1910] and her obit says she is also buried in Loudon Park, but her grave has not been located. Death date: John died 1880 in Asheville, NC, while overseeing construction of an Episcopal Church; his body was returned to Raleigh, where he was buried in Oakwood Cemetery. John's grave - like his wife's - has not been located. Son George is presumed to have also been buried in Oakwood, but again the grave has not been found. John was a member of the William G. Hill Lodge of Masons in Raleigh, and the Lodge was [per obit] in charge of the funeral and interment. A request for assistance was answered by an invitation to stop by [from a 1000 miles away] and look through their records. Through census records I know that son William in 1900 was living in Baltimore and married to "Fanny M.", b. 1869, and son Gilbert, b. Jan., 1899. Son Peter Robert moved to Bloomington, IN, d. 1956 in Elkhart, IN. Apparently none of the other children lived anywhere but Raleigh or Baltimore. Any additional information of this family would be greatly appreciated. Bob King [email protected]
