John Jefferson Monds, in his Civil War records, gives Simon King as 'next of kin'... In Gates Co. tax records is the following: Munns, Grace 1848 12 acres Mintonsville Muns, Dracy 1849 same King, Grasey 1850 10 same Munns, Dracey 1852 12 same Muns, Dracey 1853 same Muns, Dreucy 1854 same Munns, Grace 1855 same Muns, Grorey 1855 same ", Jefferson 1856 FP (?) same Munze, Grace 1857 " same Muns, Grace 1858 " same Mums, Gracy 1859 " same Muns, Jefferson 1860 " same Interesting name spellings, huh? Anyway, I cannot find a marriage for Grace King and Jefferson Muns. Circumstances lead me to believe they are the parents of my John Jefferson Monds who was [email protected] This is a brick wall I've just got to get through before January...I want to present a nice chart and family history to my parents for their 50th in March. Any leads are MOST welcome! I have a few copies of some Bible records and other transcriptions on these Kings if anyone needs them. BTW...cannot find any info on Grace or Jefferson in the 1850 census of Gates, Chowan, Perquimans, or Pasquotank Counties of NC. There is a Jefferson in 1840, then my JJefferson in 1860.
