Hi everyone! This is my first posting to this list, and I am REALLY hopeful that some kind, knowledgable person out there may have a clue or brainwave that will help us to discover something about these elusive KINGs! Alice KING was my husband's grandmother, and every scrap of information that we have about the lady comes from her marriage details: Alice KING, Spinster (no occupation given) married John George KELLOW, Widower (his occupation: Master Bootmaker) on 7th August, 1912 at Lambeth Register Office, London, England. Her age at that time was given as 28, so we're assuming a year of birth of about 1884. Her father was named as "George William KING" and his occupation was given as "Formerly a Golf Links Ground Keeper". John George KELLOW's father is listed as deceased, but as no such mention is made in the case of George William KING, the assumption is that he may still have been alive at this time. Under the section "Residence at the time of Marriage", both John George KELLOW and Alice KING gave the address of "12, Lingham Street, Stockwell" (this is part of Lambeth, London). They may have been living together at the time of marriage, but I understand that 12, Lingham Street had a number of separate flats/apartments, so it could all have been quite above board! The witnesses at the wedding were E.A. NEW, K.M. KING and A.M. HEMMINGS - perhaps a clue there somewhere, especially with "K.M. KING". This really is all the information that I have to go on, and I am keeping my fingers firmly crossed in the hope that someone on the list might recognise some small detail, and perhaps be able to point our research in a fruitful direction! Thank you so much for your help, Best wishes, Sue
