Hi Kelly Parks: When I read your message, which is copied below, I noticed the subject name. The reason being that one of my uncles was named Henry Sanford King, and he went by the name Sanford King. Over the years of researching my King family line, I have been unable connect the Sanford name to any other King or Harkins line; however, it has been used by other King lines; but I have yet to correspond with the users because of family health problems. Here are the generations of my King line that might possibly merge somewhere with your King line: My Great-Great Grandparents were Ephraim King (b. Abt 1785) and his wife was Jane Harkins. They migrated to Lincoln Co. TN from South Carolina around 1813; where they were apparently married. The other's mentioned below were born in Lincoln Co. TN; except my King/Chapman grandmother noted below, who was born in nearby Bedford Co. TN. My Great Grandparents were Andrew Jackson King (b. Abt. 1813) and his wife Isabelle Mitchell (b. Abt. 1822) and my King grandparents were Thomas Shadrack King (b. Abt 1852) and his wife Mary Aliena Chapman. My grandparents migrated to Madison Co. AL during the early 1900's and settled in Toney, AL, then to the Huntsville, AL area after a short time in Toney, then also for a short time in Birmingham, AL around 1910 and then back to Huntsville, AL for the remainder of their lives. Madison County, AL is also where I was born. Any possible connection? If so, will be pleased to trade genealogical information. Seeking info re Elizabeth SMITH, b c1872, married James F. KING in 1900 in Madison Co., Indiana. They appear in Madison Co. in 1900 and 1910 census, and in Indianapolis, Marion Co., Indiana, in 1920 and 1930. They had a son: George L. KING, born about 1904. Any descendants out there?

Hi Tami: My husband's great-grandfather, John King married Julia Lashua in Troy, Cheshire County, NH on 16 Nov 1868. The marriage record states that he was 20 and that he was born in St Johns, CE. Parents names were John C King & Julia King. John C King (the junior) died in Templeton, Worcester County, MA 25 June 1891 at age 42. He and Julia had 10 children. Death certificate did not list place of birth. I have found the death of Mary King, parents John C King & Julia King, in Troy, NH on 20 Mar 1870 age 19 yrs. Her death certificate said she was born in Canada. Also the birth of Amelia King, parents John C.King & Julia, in Troy, NH on 20 Dec 1870. She is a sister of John C (the junior) because he and Julia Lashua had a child born about that time. Birth place of both parents is listed as Canada East. I have not found the elder John King's family in the 1870 NH census. I assume that Canada East is Quebec province, but then there are a lot of Kings in St John County, New Brunswick. This is all the information I have on this family except for descendants of John C King and Julia Lashua. I'm not sure if they are Kings or Roys. Those great uncles of my husband's all spoke French. Richard King and his family moved from the New Brunswick area of NJ to Rowan County. Iradell was the nearby county. Dear Mr. Hand: Upon my return to the city, I find your letter and I am glad you wrote Mr. Clark. I knew he would be able to give you the best information of anybody in the State. With warm regards, Josephus Daniels, Sect.-Treas. & Bus. Mgr. The attached papers regarding the King Family of North Carolina and elsewhere, received from Mr. R. R. Clark, Statesville, Iredell County, N.C. to whom Mr. Daniels had written upon request of the writer for information concerning the family, etc...........James King Hand October 26, 1923, the date received from Mr. Clark was as follows: A FAMILY RECORD OF THE KINGS, COMMENCED IN 1821 BY THE REVEREND RICHARD HUGG KING After the birth of these children in 1756, the family moved to Rowan County, next to Iredell County, North Carolina and settled at Third Creek, but later removed to a farm adjoining that of Dr. McCorkle of Withrows Creek. Edward King born about 1745 and listed in early Wilkes County, NC state census. I think the Edward King listed in 1759 Rowan County NC tax list is he. One account states that Edward King was not a taxable, but was a chain surveyor which would mean he was a young teenager. Therefore; one of the men listed in the 1759 taxables was most likely his father.
