Theresa: Since you are in Indiana and I have King folks in that state from the Hendricks County area, guess I might as well throw mine into the ring too. I have three ELI KING'S and have been at the 'brick wall' for some years now. We are: ELI KING born 14 Apr 1792 NC or OHIO, died 15 Oct 1857 buried Danville, Indiana East Cemery. He is shown in 1850 US Census for Washingtown Twp., Hendricks Co., Indiana with no spouse showing 3 young folks (probably children) and a daughter-in-law and two grandsons. ELI KING (No. 2) is the son of the above born 6 Aug 1824 KY, died 25 Apr 1850, also buried Danville, IN East Cemetery. This Eli married SARAH SANDERS (1824-1890) 6 Nov 1846 in Hendricks Co., IN. Two children born to this union, David R. King 1847-1926 and ELI FRANCES KING (No. 3) was born 26 Apr 1850 (the day after his father (No. 2) died. ELI FRANCES KING (No. 3) was my great grandfather; his mother emigrated to Illinois after the death of Eli No. 2; I have much history on the family from this point forward. I have John C. King who married Julia Lashua in Troy, Cheshire County, NH on 16 Nov 1868. His marriage record states he was born in St John Canada East abt 1849. It also states his father John King and mother Julia King (error?) Since everyone is writing about their William King ancestors, I guess I'll throw mine in there, also. My 3rd great grandfather, William I. King was born in 1796, Sullivan County TN & died in 1869, Rhea County TN. His father, Thomas King (RWS) was born in 1754, Lancaster County PA & died in 1847, Sullivan County TN. Supposedly Thomas was grandson of "immigrant", also Thomas, who may have came to the Colonies from Ireland, but I haven't been able to "prove" that. James, No I don't know any more about William at all, no parents, or children. I have another William King that married a Nancy McKinney born in 1884, but I don't have any other information on them either. My King group seemed to end up in Iowa. I have a Carolyn E King that married an Easton and her sister Cordelia King married a Jacob Hill. She and Jacob died in MN just across the state line from WI. Sorry the name Ann Earle doesn't seem to ring any bells either. My family: John King m Lydia Ryder Had children: John A., Harvey, Julia, Carolyn, Cordelia and Laurette all born in NY between 1831 and 1848. However then the family moved and ended up in IA. Hi! King researchers: With all the talk about William Kings - I'll add mine to the list: William KING -- He moved from Scott County, Virginia to Tennessee in the late 1820s, and was living in Claiborne County, Tennessee by 1830, and by 1850, the census report lists his birth in DELAWARE in 1779. We know the date he was born from his tombstone: July 10, 1779. He died September 27, 1865, and is buried in the Coleman Cemetery in Claiborne County, TN. There are many KING lines in Delaware in the 1700s, but I can't get a link to any of them. I hope his children's names might give a clue -- Elias, Rosa Ozina, Elkanah (Elcana, Cana), Hiram, Margaret (Jennie), Elihu, David, Emily, Lucinda, John, and Amy. Notice the first-born son's name: ELIAS KING. There were several Elias Kings in New Castle, Delaware in the 1700s. Could one of these be my William's father or grandfather - naming his first-born son after one? Also, the names Elkanah and Elihu are unusual - maybe a clue to my line? Thanks! Need help with brick wall looking for a specific king family: Albert King born abt 1864 St John NB married 1. Eliza A Thompson Oct 1886 died 1894 in Campbellton NB at age 29 children Bessie Elizabeth b.Feb. 24 1889 Saint John William (Willie) Albert b. June 1904 Albert Rainsford b.Feb 7 1907 married Rosamond Milne 1901 Census have them in Dalhousie Restigouche Co.. the children by Mcrae were all born in Maple Green Restigouche Co NB 1911 Census have them in Amherst NS an obit in 1933 for a brother (James King) indicates that Albert is back in Campbellton NB have info on Bessie as she is my grandmother.... but nothing on the other members of the family which I am desperately trying to locate.....present living members of Bessie's family are not able to help( family remains silent) I do know that Albert Rainsford King married Rosamond Milne but died in a car accident in 1957 in NS and is buried in Gay's River NS..have the article on the accident... but could not locate an obit........ but have not been able to even get info on this family.... William b. Aug 10 1887 according to his attestation papers was living in Sackville St Halifax during WW1 working as a metal worker at the time of his discharge in 1919 he was with the No 6 Detachment CMPC (Canadian Military Police Corp) with the rank of corporal.... and his step mother was in Amherst.......... I am looking for ancestors of: GEORGE WADE KING (b. 1839 NC)(d. 1923 Lauderdale Co., MS). His death certificate is smudged but looks like his father was George King b. NC. GWK said he was raised along the PeeDee River (Anson or Richmond Co., NC? Marlboro or Chesterfield Co., SC?) He married Lurena Birks or Burks in Lawrence Co., AL in 1861. He said he went to Lauderdale Co., MS with the Hobgood family before 1862 when he joined the CSA. He said he had a wife and 2 children before the War but when he came home they were gone. Dead? Deserted? In 1866, he remarried to Ann Rainey Miller, dau. of Eli T. Miller and Catherine Hall Rainey, and had a large family in Lauderdale Co., MS. Children were: 1.Charles M.
