    2. Don Bloomfield
    3. Dear King Cousins: I am descended from Bridget King Jones who emigrated to Boston from Galway, Ireland about 1850 with her children Hannah, Bridget, Maria, Ellen, and Martin. Her husband (John Jones) is said to be the last person buried in the Dominican Churchyard in Galway (ca. 1840's). These were definitely Irish Catholic Joneses. I've been told that King and Jones are Welsh names who emigrated to Ireland. Does anyone have any information on Kings in Galway in the early 19th century? Thanks in advance for any help. Sincerely, Linda Bloomfield BKCELLAR@erols.com

    3. Well this must be the week for all the sprites to come out of the woods and so will I..... My King ancestors seem to be dead ends. They are as follows: Zachariah King moved to Monroe Co., ky in the 1820's. The census said N.C. but some other records stated S.C. He was married to Drucilla ? He is father of my Alphonso King born about 1824 in Ky. On the 1850 Monroe Co census Zachariah is shown as 75 so that would put his birth abt 1775. Children of Alphonso King and Sally Steen are John W. King, Anna King, Zachariah King, Alfa King, Elizabeth King, Mary C. King, Jane King, Julia King(my grgr), George C. king. I know there were some Kings in Estill Co., Ky in early 1800's and best I can determine that Zachariah was dead when mine was still living in Monroe Co. If anyone recognizes these names I will appreciate hearing from you. Cheryl

Married Mary Ann Speer/Spear....born 31 Dec 1853 in GA They are the parents of Eula Belle King......born 06 Apr 1877 in Clinton, Jones County, GA. Eula married Charles Lee Smith. Eula died 26 Nov 1935 in Eldorendo, Decatur County, GA and is buried in Bainbridge, Decatur County, GA I know the names of their children, too. I don't know if Eula married Charles in Jones County. I don't know if Eula had siblings. I would appreciate any information anyone might have on my King line. Christine Reynolds creyn@cyberstreet.com

    1. Re:Frequently Used KING Family Given Names
    2. Hi Folks: My King line possibly migrated from NY (Long Island - Oyster Ponds) or nearby CT south through DE, MD, VA, NC, SC, TN, AL and TX before jumping to CA during my generation. They often used the same given names over and over for each generation of their children. This frequently produced two or more children with the same given name for each generation. Here are some of the more unique given names that they used: Sanford, Jackson, Ames and Ephraim. If your King family line includes these given names, there is a possibility we are related. So please let me hear from you. Tom King, Sr. San Diego, CA
