Hi Paula, Surely there were other children born to George Harvey King and his wife. Almost all families had 10 or 11 children at that time, unless the parents died young. I ask because I have been looking for the parents of my GEORGE KING b. 1820 VA or PA, (depending on which census you believe), unsucessfully for years. My George's father and mother (per all census info) was b. PA. My George KING b. 1820 marr Sept 30, 1840 in Jennings Co., IND to Nancy E. BOYD (b. abt 1820 OH or IND). They lived in Geneva Twp. (Scipio P.O.) in 1840. By the 1850 census, they were living in Madison Co., IND. In 1857 they were back in Jennings Co., IND and emigrated fr there to Anderson Co., KS, with several other anti-slavery families: JOHNSON's, SPRIGS's, Tobias MAY, BROWN, and Morgan HEFLIN families. Children of George KING and Nancy BOYD: *Joseph Francis (middle initial S. on some documents), b. 1842 IND, marr Jennings Co., IND in 1865 to Catherine Ferrell LEWELLEN (dau of James Lewelling). Last name spelled Lewellen/Lewelling/Luellen. Elizabeth A., b. 1845 IND William, b. 1847 marr. Jenny BRAZELTON, 1866 Jennings Co. IND Robert Clinton, b. 1849 IND, marr Anderson Co., KS 1870 to Mary "May" LIPPY David b. 1851 IND Emily/Emma, b. 1859 KS George, b. 1861 KS Martha /"May" b. 1863, marr. btwn 1884-1889 to _______MADDOX If anything above looks familiar to you or anyone else on the list, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. ....................carol...........ccicotte@aol.com
Any one have any KINGS from Knox Co., TN (Knoxville,TN) I just got some new information on my KINGS.
I don't think Tom is paranoid. In the interest of safety, it's a good idea to detach an attached file and scan it thoroughly before opening it. Also, to be clear, an attachment is NOT "only email" -- it isn't subject to the same restrictions in how much damage it can cause that an email message is. If it's an executable, it COULD damage your computer; even the most benign sounding attached executable could be something that executes a command that reformats your hard drive. If it's a data file, it could still pass a virus, like the MS Office macro-viruses. And yes, I've received macro-viruses by email multiple times. Everyone's got their own threshhold of safety; I also never open an attachment from someone I don't know, particularly an executable. As much as we'd like to think that this RSL community is safe, there can always be one kid who wants to wreak havoc, or someone who is bored one day and wants to feel powerful, who sends something out with ill intent. If you ARE going to assume that attachments are safe, I recommend that you do a thorough backup of files that you can't do without on a regular basis. I'd hate to lose all the research I've done and emailed information I've received in a single moment with a bad judgement on whether to open a file.
Looking for info on Margaret KING b.1833 mar. abt. 1849 Isaac Taulbee b. 1830. They were born in Estill or Perry Co.Ky. Her parents were Mary Vires & George KIng. Any info would be great. This is my Brick Wall King. George Harvey KING said to have been born in Maryland, came to Washington Co., Pa and resided near Majorsville, W.VA. (as the boundary was still in dispute at this time it may have been W.VA.). I don't know if he came with his parents and married Margaret McElroy in Washington Co., PA., or if he was married in Maryland? They had one son, James King, b. May 28, 1826 and he married Susanna Hartsock, dau. of David Hartsock and Mary Cook. In the 1850 Census James and Susanna King were living in Dallas, Marshall Co., W.VA. Any help would be appreciated!!! Paula Chodacki Almont, MI. buckskin@cardina.net URL: http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/c/h/o/Paula-L-Chodacki/index.html
Tom You are paranoid. The only way to send large files is by useing attachments and links. I send and receive many large files with attachments, sure I have an anti virus program but it has never detected a problem. The only time anyone had a problem opening a file I sent was because I didnt do it correctly but I got it right the 2nd try. OK, how many of you cousins had your computer damaged by Email? Remember an attacment is only Email. If you suffered damage. What kind of damage? virus? trojan? Richard L. I am trying again to find any information at all on Baker King. All I know is that he showed up on a marriage bond for his daughter Sarah (Sally) King who married John Vaughn in Green Co, Ky in the late 1890s. If anyone, anywhere has seen anything at all of Baker King please help me out. Sincerely, Theresa Vining dlscajun1@aol.com
Have a lone - lost soul - William TAYLOR KING, b. January 7, 1859 or 1861. No knowledge of parents. Is it possible that his middle name reflects the maiden name of his mother? States on census that he was born in MS - but information on census is sometimes dubious. He did not know the state his parents were born in in 1880 but showed MS in 1910. First found in 1880 in Scott County, MS as a boarder with Joseph FITZHUGH and his wife Nora and daughter Ora. Working as a farmer. Later moved to LA where he accumulated much land prior to his death, became a store owner and the community of KINGSVILLE was named for him according to handwritten note by community members on his death. Looking desperately for a connection for my William TAYLOR KING. Barbara Webb purvisweb@aol.com

My King line is very short: John Luther King, m. July 29, 1884 to Essie Ophelia Tribble in Anderson Co., SC. John Luther was known by his grandchildren as "Papa," and worked as a railroad supervisor of some kind in South Carolina. These are my great-grandparents. I don't know if she was the only child from this marriage, but my grandmother was Ruth King, who married my grandfather Harry Merck and lived in Bishopville, SC. She died right around 1964. I'd love to hear if anyone has any knowledge of John Luther. Sounds like he was quite a character! My father lived with him for a while as a child, and tells some really amusing stories about him. -Rebecca Merck
