Hi! I'm looking for Elizabeth King b abt 1815 m Feb. 8, 1837 John Stanton Pollard in Garrard Co., KY. They also lived in Lincoln Co., KY. Children were: John William, Joseph, Mildred, Sally Ann, Perry, Samuel, Margaret & Mason. I would be most happy to share. Thanks. Norma
Thel-- I saw your post on John W. King (quoted below) who ended up in Denton Co., TX. Interestingly enough, my sister-in-law (who is not on the Internet) has a John W. King (m. Elizabeth Foley) who moved from MO to Denton Co., TX in the 1830s when Texas was a Republic. My sister-in-law descends from this couple's dau., Julia Ann W. King who married Abraham Chandler. Julia died when their children were small, and Abraham left the children orphans when he was killed in the Civil War. The KING family I am searching for has so many of the names seemingly common to Kings everywhere. Here is all I have of early information: This information is from an interview with WILLIAM C. KING, JR., in 1979. "Seven brothers came from England to Virginia in 1600's. Three brothers stayed in Virginia. Two moved to Tennessee. PRICE KING and two (?) brothers went to St. Charles, Missouri. They were steamboat pilots on the Mississippi River. PRICE KING, (the above William C. King's grandfather) worked on river boats between St. Louis, MO and Cincinnati, OH." That is the "story". Here are the descendants of PRICE KING that I know of: 1 Price King 2 Samuel Price King 2 Molly King 1852 - 1930 (buried in Denison, TX) + Abernathy *2nd Husband of Molly King: + Johnson 2 Margaret "Maggie" King 1855 - 1934 (buried in Denison, TX) 2 William C. King Sr. 1857 - 1929 born in St. Louis, MO, buried in Denison, TX + Laura Ann Wilson 1873 - 1925 buried in Denison, TX 3 Arthur Lee King 1899 - 1954 (never married) 3 Raymond Branch King 1902 - 1955 (buried in Houston, TX) + Mary Felder (no children) 3 WILLIAM C. KING, JR 1904 -1995 + Erma Catherine Stanford 1904 - 1995 4 Raymond Charles King 4 Mary Linn King 4 William C. King 4 Joseph Stanford King 4 Nancy Catherine King I am anxious to find some where to go for information on the Price King, and Samuel Price King. The names that come down through the present generation are William, Thomas, Charles, Michael, Raymond, John, Joseph. If anyone sees a possibility of any even remote connection, I would be appreciative of hearing from you. This is my husband's family. Margaret <kingm@koyote.com>

I've only gone back to Thomas M. KING [1853-1933] married to Laura Bell TRIPP [1864-1929]. They lived in Carroll Co., and are buried in the Palermo Cemetery. Supposedly, he had 2 brothers ... William and Ross J. ... but they seemed to have magically appeared on the earth, because I can't find a record of their parents' names. Even Thomas' death certificate is lacking the information. There are also rumors of Scottish decent among these elusive KINGs. Susan Mann

My Koenig / Kings travelled from Hamburg GY to Rockingham Co. VA in 1786 aboard the Patsy Rutledge. Johann Christian Koenig, b. 1754 in Bosenbachen GY was the son of Johann Jacob Koenig, who was born in Essweiler GY in 1720. Johann C. and his wife Anna Catherine Baum arrived in America and by 1802-1804 were in Perry County OH. Johann and Anna C. had many children, in cluding Peter, John Jr., Marillis, Catherine, George, Christian, Elizabeth (I am moving and this is all I can remember from memory right now, although I have the full list if anyone has a connection). My George died in Stoutsville OH c. 1862. Many of his children remained in the area, but several, including Adam, Henry, Sarah (m. Samuel Gehrett), L:ydia (m. Peter Mowery), George W., and David, moved to Wells County IN. George's widow, Catherine Moyer, came also, and is buried in WC in Stahl Cemetery. Adam had thirteen children, including Adam Jr., whoi married Lovesa Blair. Adam and Lovesa had four, two of which survived to adulthood. Their son Harry married Josie Burgess and they had six children, including my grandmother, Dayle King. She married Ray Rains and they had five children, including my mother Shirley, who married Ronald Love and had three children, of which I am one. Anyone who has any connections, I would love to hear from you and exchange information. Are there any more of us out there? I'm posting again re John KING, b. abt. 1835-40 in SCT, came to the States in 1860, married Janet Greig JACK in Baltimore in 1860, settled in Raleigh, Wake Co., NC. John was listed in the 1870 and 1880 NC census as a stonecutter. In 1869 he purchased property on Hargett St. in Raleigh. He does not appear in the 1900 NC census and is presumed to have died (in Raleigh) before that time. Janet and the children apparently moved to Baltimore after his death. She died in 1910 in Baltimore. Five of the seven children are buried in Loudon park Cemetery in Baltimore. Need any information available on John. Thanks.

John KING was born in Loudon Co. VA 6 Mar 1786. He married Rachael HIXON (also of Loudon Co.). They moved to Fayette Co. OH where he founded the Sugar Grove Methodist Church. They had 11 children: Bennet Sarah Timothy H. John A. Reuben Wesley William A. Elizabeth Rachel A. (infant) James C. Does this connect with you (or anyone else)? Regards, John
