Yes, there definitely were Kings in Wisconsin. I'm not sure about now. Sometime around 1885 or 90 my grandfather, Charles Henry KING, arrived to study dentistry at Marquette in Milwaukee. At least, that is the story. He married my grandmother, Aleda M. LINK, in 1890 and they moved to Amherst, WI where he practiced dentistry until he died in 1907. Now here is the problem: Charles was born in Vermont of French Canadian father and French mother. How is that for a lot of information? He had six siblings: Mary, Joe, Sam, Ann, George and -?-. John KING, b. ca. 1835-1850 somewhere in KY; married _____ NORRIS sometime in 1865-1867 (based entirely on date of birth of oldest child); was in southern AR by 1887; died ca. 1895-1900, possibly in AR or LA or TX. My KING family came from Ohio, but before that I am at a loss. He was born ca. 1855 in ?; he married Joanna Richter, also born ca. 1855, in Germany. Their son, (my grandfather) William Fredrick KING was born in 1875 in Ohio. He moved to Nebraska, where he married my Grandmother, Johanna( AKA Joehannah, Josie) Sullivan in 1912, in Papillion, Sarpy, NE. Am Looking for anyone with information about JOHN King from Connecticut, who removed to central New York, and specifically the Ithaca area, in 1770. Wife's name unknown but they had 11 children, including John, Jr., and possibly a Jonathan. John Jr. (1791-1875) married Elizabeth Ganung (1794-1871), and they resided in Trumansburg, NY. That's take this information and see if we can find 7 Kings that came to America in the 1600's. They may or may not be brothers, but it would at least give us a block to look for.
