I would like to location my Katherine(Kitty) KING. She was born in Alabama sometime between 1860 and 1883 . I found her two brothers born in Limestone County, AL. Her mother's name may have been Mary Emaline Brown as that was the name of her brother's mother. She moved toTishomingo, Johnston Co., Oklahoma in 1902 and Married Abe Chaney sometime there after. My King family came from Ireland and settled in Morris County, NJ about 1761. The progenitor of this family is James King (1711-1785). Hi Everyone; After spending all day yesterday in the state archives and all afternoon today in the Boston Public Library and finding nothing, I am back to trying the list again. Mary A. KING, Married Donald Scott Campbell in 1874 Boston, MA. They had four children that I know of. Mary Gertrude b. 1881, Margaret E b. 1876, and John Scott b.1879 all in Boston, MA. Then comes Catherine E. b. 1878 in Maine. Marriage certificate gives father's name as Patrick, mother's Margaret no surname. They were married in the Church of The Advent Boston, MA. John King would have been born c. 1830-40 in Scotland (possibly Fife). He came to the States in 1860, is believed to have entered through Baltimore, MD. He married Janet Greig Jack of Scoonie, Fife, SCT, a girl he met aboard ship, in Baltimore in 1860. They moved on to Raleigh, Wake Co., NC, where they are found on the 1870 & 1880 census rolls. John is listed as a stonecutter. In 1869 John purchased property on Hargett Street in Raleigh. John and Janet were the parents of 7 children, all born in Raleigh: Christine, b. 1863 - d. 1938 William, b. 1865 - d. 1927 George, b. 1869 - d. bef 1880 (in Raleigh) John P., b. 1871 - d. 1931 Margaret, b. 1874 - d. 1948 Janet, b. 1877 - d. 1953 Peter Robert, b. 1880 - d. 1956 (Elkhart, IN) Janet Jack King d.1910 in Baltimore. John preceded her, is believed to have died in Raleigh, NC. Apparently after his death, the family moved to Baltimore. With the exceptions noted above, the children all are believed to have died in Baltimore - all are buried in Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore. Janet Jack's obit says she, too, is buried there, but another friendly searcher checked and was told she isn't there. In the early 1930's one (or more) of the children lived on Guilford Ave. NW in Baltimore. I believe one of the residents was a William (would have had to be a son of - probably - William b. 1865), and that Janet and Margaret may also have resided there. For some reason, by the 1940's contact between my father and his siblings was essentially ended. I would very much like information on gfather John King and/or any of the children, or (perhaps even better) to make contact with one or more descendents of this family. Looking for information on John Luther King, married to Essie Ophelia Tribble on 29 July 1884. No birth/death dates for John Luther King, but Essie was born 25 Jan 1869. They lived in South Carolina, though there are many family ties to the Athens, GA area, and he was a railroad supervisor of some kind.
