    1. [KING-L] KING, William Petition Papers
    2. John Lancaster
    3. I was browsing this site this morning: http://www.genweb.net/~irolee/paper/petitions4.htm and found the following. It may be useful to someone on the list: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ KING, William. Filed January 1833. Aged 77 or 78. Enlisted in Bedford Co., VA under Col. Charles Lynch in Capt. Robert Adams company. Speaks of his father, Avra King who was drafted, also in Bedford, by Capt. Charles Watkins. Names the following officers: Leut. Wm. Reynolds, Capt. Isaac Webb, Capt. James Calloway, Ensign Wm. Triplett and Col. Benj. Logan. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I've no direct connection that I know of, but am interested in that Avra King if anyone happens to have additional data. The name Avery King shows up in my records, but I've no real documentation for him. trapper ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ John Lancaster, Freelance Business & Technical Writer http://www.ipa.net/~trapper/skeleton.html mailto:trapper@ipa.net ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Researching Lancaster, Rogers, Moss, Haydon lines. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    2. Rhonda D. King
    3. I am trying to find anyone who may have a Jesse King, born in Ga. between 1820 & 1830 as an ancestor. The Jesse King I am looking for died in the civil war or that is what family stories tell. However I now believe that the Jesse I am looking for may be the Jesse King found in 1860 in Lowndes Co., Ga. and in 1870 in Brooks Co., Ga. If anyone has information on a Jesse King b. in Ga. during the afore mentioned time frame or knows anything about the Jesse King that was living in Lowndes and Brooks Co., Ga. I would appreciate hearing from you. Rhonda PS. I believe this Jesse King would have been born in either Wilkes, Monroe, or Pike Co., Ga. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

    3. Hello Kings, My great, great, great grandfather was Capt George H King, a commercial fisherman that lived in Point Place, Ohio. He was born 5/28/1849 in Toledo, and died 10/31/1937. I believe his parents may have been named Timothy King and Lucy Lancaster. George King married Catherine F Armstrong. One of their daughters was Ethel A. King, my great, great grandmother. She married Albert E French. Just wondering if anyone has come across any of these names in your research. Thanks, Eric French french829@worldnet.att.net

    3. Hi all, >From bits and pieces from several sources, we have connected the following Kings. Be sure that much of this is considered speculation until proven: 1. Peter King before 7 Oct 1694, New Kent County, VA 2. Johnston King bc 1725, Pittsylvania Co., VA 3. a Peter King bc 1750 b _____ King bc 1758 c Robert King bc 1760 d Ransom King bc 1767 Peter King 3.a above came into NC: 1. Peter King bc 1750 m. Susannah Bolling 11 children for Peter has been found so far, if the Randolph, NC King's are connected correctly. Boling King, Guilielma King and Cummings King are 3 of those children and those names ought to tell us more than they do. Where did Cummings or Comings come from, ditto Guililema (perhaps a Pool name). Where did Johnston get the name Ransom to name one of his Ransom? Johnston King may have had a daughter who may have married a James Pool bc 1774, and one of his boys had a daughter Elizabeth to marry Jesse Poole. All of these folks of Randolph County, NC. I do have some additional research, and hope to connect with everyone working these Kings. We also have a Johnston lineage who came into this area also of New Kent we think. She married John Garner. Ken

    3. Hello Ken: I read through your message and spotted the name "GARNER" at the very end. I have been searching for years for any history of my King line and Garner line. (I put my history on the rootsweb list about two weeks ago) I am searching for my Grt-Grt-Grt Grandfather William King. He was born July 10, 1779 in Scott County Virginia. He died Sept 27, 1865 in Claiborne County Tennessee. He married a Sarah Garner. She was born Aug 24, 1781 - but we don't know where - Virginia? She died March 30, 1862 in Claiborne County Tennessee. Could she have been a Garner from New Kent? Have you ever run across a Sarah Garner in your research? Would love to find something about my William and Sarah. Thanks! Nancy :-) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ken Poole wrote: > > Hi all, > > >From bits and pieces from several sources, we have connected the following > Kings.
