    3. Hi, Sarah -- Not researching this line of KINGs myself, but the name Chauncey jumped out at me. Another researcher has given me the following, which I'll just outline for you. Don't know if they might connect with yours, but the name Chauncey King seems a little unusual, don't you think? (In my database of over 6000 names, this is the only Chauncey I have! <g>): 1) Henry King, b 1794 NY, m. (Cynthia?), d 1865. Had 10 children: 2) 1. George (had 6 children) 2) 2. Vernon (had 2 children) 2) 3. Charles (had 6 children) 2) 4. Degolier (had 8? children) 2) 5. Henry (had 2 children) 2) 6. John (had 2 children) 2) 7. Cynthia 2) 8. Job (had 2 children) 2) 9. Huldah 2)10. Sabrina 2) 4. Degolier King, b 3 Jan 1821 Jefferson Co., NY, d 12 Apr 1897, Berrien Co., MI; m. 1st Mary; 2nd Almira Earl. Moved to New London, OH, 1839; then to Huron Co, OH; moved to MI in 1855. * name given on cem marker as "Degolier Chauncey King." * Possibly 8 children, only name given to me is: 3) 1. Chauncey Degolier King 3) 1. Chauncey Degolier King, b 12 May 1872, Sodus, Berrien Co, MI, d 23 Aug 1960, Belding, Ionia Co., MI; m Ida Grace Meabon 1897 in Ionia Co., MI. Five children: 4) 1. Elizabeth P. King 4) 2. Mildred M. King 4) 3. Agnes R. King 4) 4. Crystal Cevilla King 4) 5. Herbert Freeman King ~~~~~~~ I think it's possible that your lines connect to these. Perhaps your Chauncey is a cousin of Degolier, maybe a nephew of Henry (1). The lady who gave me this info has a note that the source is "page 221 of the Green Family Book." Nothing further, no author, location, etc. If this info interests you and you'd like to follow up with her, I'll try to get in touch with her. I haven't heard from her in over a year, and she had health problems. She wasn't on the net, so you'd have to write to her. Dottie gpiechocki@email.msn.com

    3. My ggg-grandfather was George Harvey King (suppose to have been born in Maryland, and came to SW PA. in early 1800's), married a Margaret McElroy and they resided near Majorvilles, W. VA. which is on the border of Washington Co., PA. George and Margaret supposedly only had one son James King who was born in 1826 in Washington Co., and married Susannah Hartsock/Hertzog of Washington Co. Pa. I believe George Harvey King had a brother John, also. I have alot of information on James King and his descendants, but can't find anything on his parents or ancestors. 1. [KING-L] Pocahontas, etc.
    2. Dear King Researchers, I have been overwhelmed with requests! Here's more info on the Pocahontas descendants. The all CAPS names are direct descendants of Pocahontas and I can give the complete line if you like. Unfortunately the Foundation lists no Kings as direct descendants. George Henry King married Susan Christian BOLLING (c 1849-) on 9/21/1870. Their children: Mary Meredith King, (3/15/1872-?) married a Johnston and had one daughter. Richard Bolling King (12/1/1874-?), Annie Randolph King (4/10/1877-?), Susan Christian King (12/26/1881-?), George Henry King, Jr. (9/2/1883- ?), Robert Skipwith King (3/26/1887-?) Rev. Joseph King of Missouri married Pocahontas R. ABELL (8/4/1846- ?) on 12/19/1879. Their children: Ella King, May Cabell King, Addison Abell King, Ruth Scarritt King. Merlie King married Carter Bankhead CLARK (1903-1963) Mary Etta King (9/166/1871-8/12/1910) married Richard Rutherford RANDOLPH (6/6/1865-?) on 4/24/1889. Mary Etta King was the daughter of Petyon Grigging King and Mary Alabama Tarrant of Birmingham, AL Nellie RIVES married Palmer King of Valdosta GA. GreGilliam@aol.com

Susannah Boling (Bolling) She was of Montgomery Co., NC, her father John of VA. > Some claim this family had two sons to come into VA in the mid late 1600s,and one or both of them married into the Indian Chief Powhatan's lineage.Anyone who can confirm this, or reconfirm, or deny this oral tradition > <which came from off the Internet? ====================================================================== Hi! My family history has always told of two King brothers who came to Virginia in the mid 1600's to work off debt from England/Scotland. They married Indian girls - one who was related to Powhatan. Every cousin I have talked with in recent searches, confirms the same story. I even ran across a distant cousin I had never heard of - who told me the same thing - and he had heard it for years on his side of the King lines! I do know there were two King men - aboard the 2nd Virginia Charter. They could be the ones. But I haven't had the resources to go from there to my earliest known King - William King, born in Scott County Virginia in 1779. Wish we could find the line and connect back to those two brothers. Anyone know of them? Thanks! Nancy :-)
