    3. Cousins, I hope and trust that all of us on this list are already contributors to RootsWeb. If you are not, please realize that contributions from each of us are needed to keep RootsWeb online. If so, please help insure that RootsWeb will continue to be here for us - do your part by sending your contribution to RootsWeb Genealogical Data Cooperative, P.O. Box 6798, Frazier Park, CA 93222-6798. or go to http://www.rootsweb.com/ to contribute online, using a credit card and secure server or fax. 1. [KING-L] Internet access fee a hoax!
    2. Patti Gettinger
    3. Sorry to all. P.T. Barnum was right when he said there was a sucker born every minute! Thanks to "Nettie Mae" who forwarded this info advising that the internet access fee is a hoax: The FCC is NOT going to charge a per minute surcharge. Here are some Q & A the whole page can be found at http://urbanlegends.miningco.com/library/weekly/aa010798.htm It is something that 2 years ago the FCC ask for public comment on, they decided NOT to pursue this. Since that time, people have been circulating this "urban Legend" there is a lot of FCC pages listed on the page I gave you. Have fun. -- Patti Gettinger Acworth, GA Researching: HANCOCK, SIMMONS, FLOYD, DAVIS, WATSON, WILLIAMS, CALLAHAN, DARITY, HOLCOMB, TERRY http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/g/e/t/Patti-Gettinger/

    3. This seems to be another of those "quiet" bills that go through Congress and come back to bite us later. You may wish to reply or pay higher phone bills in the future. Congress will be voting in less than two weeks. CNN stated that the Government would, in two weeks time, decide to allow or not allow a Charge to your phone bill equal to a Long Distance call EACH time you access the Internet. The address is http://www.house.gov/writerep/ If you choose, visit the address above and fill out the necessary form! 2. SONYA HERALD
    3. Hi, I have seen nothing in the mailings about my King family . I have posted this before. Jacob and Becky King (could be Koenig at that time) and son Philip 10 years of age came to the US in 1832-33. In 1851 Philip married Eliza Baker. She had been married to Peter Baker and had a son Henry born in1847. They were married in Wells County, Indiana. They had 4 children-Rebecca - Matin- My great grandfather- Matida and Valentine. All the children were married except Valentine when they all moved to LaMar Kansas in1877. Martin married Samantha Kreigh (a cousin) in 1875. Their children were Perry- born in Indiana-Charles, Ada, Leslie,Goldie, and Jacob -my grandfather. They all cameback to Michigan in 1894 by covered wagon. Most of the family remained in the Michiana area the rest of their lives. Does any one know of the Kreigh family.? I had lots of them in Michigan but can not find them on any genealogy search. Looking forward to some help from you all. Thanks, Sunni

    3. I would like to have those that have IE4 web browser to check out a tree I made of my King family. There are no connections from this page to any other as of yet. However, when I am completely done, over 400 Kings in my tree will have information sheets linked to and can be directly accessed from this one page. Please send me your thoughts on any thing to improve to make it better. I am also going to work on making it available to those working with Netscape. When you get to the page, click on John King. If you get a script error, let me know. Click here: www.geocities.com/Heartland/Acres/3022/KING.html Ray A. Lynn Jr rlynn@nb.net www.geocities.com/Heartland/Acres/3022/

    1. [KING-L] King; New Jersey
    2. Henry Seymour
    3. I have a John C. King, perhaps born in Georgia, USA about 1808 who said that his father was from New Jersey and his mother was from Philadelphia. I have read that many Kings from New Jersey went to Adams County, Mississippi which was in the Mississippi Territory, and I can't discount that my John C. King's family didn't pass through there either. Also, Georgia was part of the Mississippi Territory. Unfortunately, I don't know John's parents names. Do your have a missing John from New Jersey or perhaps a King who moved to Georgia, USA prior to 1808? Thanks.

    2. MacInnes
    3. New Years Greeting One area of my family research has been particularly difficult and I hope some person will be able to help. The solution to my puzzle rests with finding descendents of CHARLES AUGUSTUS KING born 27 Feb 1902 at Peetzburgh ( now New Milford ), Palisade Township, Bergen County, NJ. He is/was the son of GEORGE EDWARD and ALICE (WINSOR) KING. CHARLES AUGUSTUS has/had at least two siblings (both older I believe) named GEORGE and HAROLD. CHARLES AUGUSTUS married VIOLET ADELE GILDERSLEEVE in 1929 at Belleville, Essex Co. Violet was born at Westwood, NJ, daughter of ARTHUR and CATHERINE (PULIS) GILDERSLEEVE who lived in Westwood. ALICE WINSOR was born 1874-1878 in St. John's, Newfoundland. GEORGE EDWARD was born in New York city in 1866. They were married 9 Feb 1896 at Schraalenburgh (ie. Dumont Borough), Bergen County. ...... and there you are! Can you help? Clinton MacInnes Wolfville, Nova Scotia

    2. Bev, I tried to send this privately but it came back. You need to unsubscribe to" KING-L-request@rootsweb.com Your post did not have the word request in the e-mail address and it is needed. The way it worked - we got the whole digest back - :-). That probably happened because you "re:Mail" instead of "to:mail" or whatever your heading says. Also, you leave the subject line blank. My computer questions it, but ignore and send without anything in it. Put the word unsubscribe in the body - nothing else - no address or name, etc. Hope this helps. Pat
