    2. Dear Curt, I have a Sandy King in my database that could be your Sandy King. I do not have a lot of information so can only say that this is a possible connection. Descendants of Henry King including a Sandy King. 1. Henry King b. possibly in Mecklenburg CO, VA d. probably Meig CO, TN +possibly Margaret Buchanan b. possibly in Richmond, VA d. Unknown 2. Charles Love King b. 13 November 1812 possibly in Richmond, VA d. 6 March 1892 in Mount Verd, McMinn Co., TN +Julia Rather McElwee b. 8 January 1813 in Roane County, TN m. probably in Knoxville, TN d: 30 April 1889 in Mount Verd, McMinn CO,TN 2. Sandy King b. Unknown 2. William King b. Unknown 2. Harry King b. Unknown 2. Medicus King b.Unknown 2. ??? King b. Unknown Curt, I am descended from Charles Love King. Family notes provide the other information. There are some good indicators that Henry King is the father of Charles Love King. I do not know the order of Charles's siblings. I do think that Sandy would not have been a common name in "our" Sandy King's generation. Debby

    1. [KING] Murder of Thomas King; 1826; Henry Co, VA
    2. Clanton-Simpson
    3. I have always wondered about the reference in John E. Pace's book to the murder of Thomas King in 1826 by Jack (John?) Hairston. I was wondering if in anyone's research of the Henry County, VA King family you might have learned more about this event. According to Mr. Pace, these two gentlemen were "friends and neighbors" who had a falling out over a "frivolous affair" that led to Jack killing Thomas and hiding his body under a thorn thicket. Supposedly Thomas' dog guarded the body for 2 days before returning and leading the family to the site. I have always assumed this happened during a fox hunt since Mr. Pace mentions Thomas' love of fox hunting in the same papagraph but I realize that he doesn't really clarify that fact. Thomas is described as a "prominent farmer" and lived in the Leatherwood Creek area. His wife, Charity or Christiana Stockton was from Beaver Creek. Most of his family later moved to Missouri (except for my branch who returned to Virginia after the death of Columbus King.) I have wondered what happened to Jack after this incident and what circumstances might have surrounded this unfortunate turn of events for the two "friends." So far, I have not found a King researcher who has checked into this tragedy. Thank you for any assistance that you can provide. Sincerely, Susan Clanton Simpson [email protected]
