Wanton King's will only mentions one Ward King, but which one? What is the connection of the different Wards to Wanton King? Which Ward is Wanton's son, or does he have two sons named Ward from different wives? (although given the dates, this scenario really doesn't fit.) Had a son Eli F. King born 6 Aug 1824, died 25 Apr 1850 Hendricks Co., IN and is also buried Danville East Cemetery. #3 Eli F. King was born 26 Apr 1850 (the day after his father's death) in Hendricks Co., IN. His mother, Sarah Sanders King, with older son, David born 1847, and Eli removed to Illinois and made the area of Cumberland and Coles Counties their home. Sarah remarried to one Nicholas Fox; both are buried Shiloh Cem., Coles Co., IL. I have lots of information on this family but would still love to know about Eli #1 and his heritage and spouse. I keep seeing all these Kings that are born in the 1800s - is there anyone out there that has any information on any Kings born before then in VA or WV or KY? I have a mysterious Nancy King b about 1795 in VA (according to census). She is found marrying Michael Short in Clermont Co., OH in 1814. He was born in 1793 in Hampshire Co., VA. I have no other information on her. Looking at her age, this is probably her first marriage. It has been suggested that she may have been born in WV or KY - the the borders changed at one time. Does anyone have a female King born about that time in those area? Did any of your King families migrate to OH? This Nancy has been a brick wall for over 30 years. I'm looking for some information on William KING. He married a woman named Mary. (I'm sure he did this just to make it "easy" on all his descendants!) The only information I have on William is that he died on 4 March 1821. Mary died on 30 Sept 1822. They had a son named Josiah M. KING (b. 29 Nov 1798, d. 10 May 1837). Josiah married Eliza Ann BEEBE (b. 27 Jun 1809, d. 8 Jan 1837) in 1828. Their daughter, Nancy Amanda KING (b. 1830) married Lewis Davis HOMAN (b. 1826 in Smithtown, Suffolk, New York). This is the first indication of location that I have. I have no more information about William or Mary or locations for any of the others mentioned here. My father's father passed away from being hit by a tree Dec 29, 1929. His name was Benjamin Newton KING and he was born in 1900. His father was William Brown KING and his mother was Martha Sullivan and they lived in Union County, GA. On a census form I found that they were both born in NC, but not where. They had several children together: Vick KING Will KING Jas KING Bell KING Rose King Vennie KING Cal KING Reddie KING Hattie KING Radill KING My father did not know them very well because instead of helping the widow (my Dad's mother) they tried to buy the daughter (my Dad's sister) to help with housework. Haven't posted in a while. Here is my brick wall. Looking for ancestry of Earl (Earle, Arle) King born sometime around 1740, probably in RI. Married Content Richmond in January 1768 in Exeter, Rhode Island. Second wife was Abigail. Marriage documents state his is from South Kingston, RI. Land documents describe him as being from Providence Plantation. After Content died, Earl took his family to Rennselear Co. NY and later, in the early 1800's to Erie Co. PA.
