    3. Dear members of the Kincaid List.  I know that some of you have counted on my sister’s notes and sources.  Recently, they disappeared.  WorldConnect isn’t what it used to be.  They moved Chris’ site to Ancestry and stripped all of the notes and sources.  And that makes it about useless.   But today, I got my old web site out of the mothballs and added a file made by Ancestral Quest.   Here is the address:http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~adgedge/genealogy/ourresearch/index.htm   Just make sure that you click on the NOTES, if there are any.   Hopefully, this will last as long as we all need it.   Sincerely,Alice Gedge

    3. Contact the Allen County Public Library Genealogy Center in Fort Wayne IN. They have many, many websites/databases from individuals on their web site. They will host in perpetuity. My Kincaid data is there has been for years. > On January 7, 2020 at 4:25 PM Ruth Cherecwich via KINCAID <[email protected]> wrote: > > > Dear members of the Kincaid List. >   > Here is the address:http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~adgedge/genealogy/ourresearch/index.htm >   > Just make sure that you click on the NOTES, if there are any. >   > Hopefully, this will last as long as we all need it. >   > Sincerely,Alice Gedge >   > > _______________________________________________ > > For complete information about the Kincaid of all spellings DNA project, including a chart, lineages, and how to participate, go to: > www.kincaiddna.org > > To see activity, photos and documents on Family Tree DNA Kincaid surname group site go to: > https://www.familytreedna.com/groups/kincaid/activity-feed > > For Research helps go to the file created by the late Chris Kraft: > http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=kraft-gedge&id=I209 > > Information compiled by Norman Kinkaide at: > http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~kincaide/Kincaid%%20Research/ > > Data compiled by Peter Kincaid: > http://kyncades.org/ > _______________________________________________ > Email preferences: http://bit.ly/rootswebpref > Unsubscribe https://lists.rootsweb.com/postorius/lists/[email protected] > Privacy Statement: https://ancstry.me/2JWBOdY Terms and Conditions: https://ancstry.me/2HDBym9 > Rootsweb Blog: http://rootsweb.blog > RootsWeb is funded and supported by Ancestry.com and our loyal RootsWeb community

    3. Alice Gedge's website is still online: http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~adgedge/genealogy/ourresearch/index.htm I have some corrections. In my family line, the Robert Kinkade (son of William McDonald Kinkade and Mary Ellen Pryor) who married Jennie Akin did not have a middle name of Stansberry. I saw Robert's death certificate, which was filled out by his sister, and it indicates that his middle name was Steven. Mary Ellen Pryor was born in Sumner County, TN in 1851. She was the daughter of Jonathan Pryor and Ellen Lee. Also, I no longer believe that the John Jamison, b. 1781, who married Mary Burks, was the son of John Jameson, b. 1763 according to his RW pension application. He married Mary "Polly" Rice, May 7, 1788 in Mercer County, KY, unless this John Jameson had an earlier wife. The John Jameson, b. 1763, did move to Barren County, KY about 1815 from Nelson County, KY. This John mentioned his daughter Lucinda Pottenger in his RW pension application. She married Samuel Pottenger, Jr. and then Strother Helm in Nelson County, KY. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/99354070/lucinda-helm Here is another Kinkade (Group C) connection to the Pottenger family: Elizabeth Pottenger (Kinkade) Birthdate: 1775 Birthplace: Fayette, Fayette, PA, United States Death: August 09, 1854 (78-79) Dixon, OH, United States Place of Burial: Dixon Township, Preble, Ohio, United States Immediate Family: Daughter of Samuel Kinkade and Elizabeth Kinkade Wife of Thomas Pottenger Mother of Samuel Pottenger; William Kinkade Pottenger, Sr.; John Pottenger; Sarah C. Milholland; Wilson Pottenger and 3 others Sister of Jane McAllister; Hugh Kinkade; Ealsa Kincaid/KinKead; William Kinkade; Mary Kinkade and 3 others Half sister of Charlotte Jane Hooker The Filson Club in Louisville, KY has many genealogy records, including Kincaids/Kinkeads. Pottinger Family Papers, 1631-1942 https://filsonhistorical.org/research-doc/pottinger-family-papers-1631-1942/ Texas records in the 1840's & 1850's show a John Jameson and his family in Texas, who appear to be the family of the 1763 John Jameson. This John and his large family are in the 1830 Barren County, KY census, but not in the 1840 Barren census. He died in Texas about 1846, which corresponds to when his RW pension stopped. My Jameson family could descend from either John Jameson and Rhoda Cook Bohannon, or from Andrew Jameson/Martha Stephenson who married in 1762 in Goochland County, VA, St. James Northam Parish. It is very complicated to sort out these Jameson families, as Barren County, KY records also include William Jameson, whose son Green B. Jameson died fighting at the Alamo in 1836 in Texas.
