    3. Thanks for the new information, Richard. I'm the Group C-2 member you mentioned with the two SNP's, "Scots modal" cluster (L1335+ and L1065+). I just ran a ydna search on FTDNA and came up with Joseph Paul Kincaid ( jkincaid@smbtrials.com), who does not list any direct paternal ancestry information on the web site. This looks like the same Joe P. Kincaid, but the FTDNA ID number is not given. The SNP chart you identified has a branch off of L-21 that stops using FTDNA labels after L1335 and L1065. It continues to the one end point with S696. According to the MacGregor DNA web site, the current chief of the MacGregor clan has tested for both L1335 and L1065, as well as all the way out to the current end of the tree at S696. Apparently, the L1065 marker separates out the Welsh participants into a separate group. According to their Jan news update, the MacGregors are working with the Scottish DNA testers to pursue this SNP further. Looks like FTDNA testing does not offer any further SNP tests for me to obtain. I either have to wait for that to happen or start participating in the British/Scottish lab testing. Or jus wait, period. For those interested, I have joined the L21, L1335 and now L1065 FTDNA dna projects, as well as the MacGregor project. The Kincaid dna site looks quite clear compared to the MacGregor site. Because the surname was banned twice at one point and everyone had to take new surnames, the list of surnames testing into the site is quite large. From a genealogical point of view this is interesting because many of the ancestors of those testing positive on the L1335 and L1065 markers can trace ancestors back geographically to the area around Campsie Parish north of Glasgow where the Kincaid surname originated. Lacking any genealogical information of our Group C-2 back to Scotland or Ireland, I have no choice but to pursue the SNP trail and look for SNP "relatives" who may have that kind of information. This line on the tree is being characterized as Scottish modal, but in particular as a candidate for Pict roots as well. My dna (all of C-2?) matches with some MacGregor's with a 90% probability of a common ancestor from 500 to 600 years ago. If I find anyone who has genealogical data that places anyone with Kincaid surnames in Scotland, I'll share the information as soon as I get it. This is working along the same lines that our group A Kincaid's are finding SNP connections to Sinclair's. Ironically, I recently found a dna match to a Sinclair as well, suggesting that we all really did live next to one another at some time and got a bit mixed up. Larry (Don) Kincaid, #16491 Group C-2. 3. I am buried at work, but will try to post known and verified history this weekend.
